Visited yesterday with friends, seated immediately and the waitress was really helpful explaining the menu and reccomending items. We had a good mix of different food and everything was gorgeous. I'm quite new to sushi but I really enjoyed it. There wasn't anything on the drinks menu that I fancied so they made something for me, that too was lovely. Had a really good experience and will definitely be back :)

Visited Izakaya a few times now as it's my new favourite restaurant. Could honestly eat here everyday!! Best katsu I've ever had and too many other delicious dishes to mention. In particular the pork bao bun, karrage chicken (tempura chicken), crispy prawn rolls and the pear Bellini. If you haven't tried it yet you're missing out. Can't wait until I'm back in work so I can get sushi takeout for lunch ���

They pack a big punch in this little restaurant. Great variety of dishes and a whole menu for vegetarian/vegan dinners. The service was fast and friendly, second to none! Food was delicious and was served with super speed even though it was quite busy and the cocktails were very tasty. Plus we were treated to some really good live music, a nice addition to the ambiance. And all at a bargain price! Will be visiting here again.

Really nice place, staff were very friendly and attentive. Had a mishap with one of the dishes and it was dealt with discreetly and professionally. Vegan menu available, portions were a good size if buying multiples between 2 or more people, cocktails were very, very good. Would definitely return.

New sushi chef at this restaurant and all the sushi is fresh and amazing - especially enjoyed the seared salmon sushi and the vegetarian option was delicious with loads of different tasty veg - highly recommended !!!

My partner and I were fortunate to win a competition to go here last night, and we both loved it. The food, is phenomenal. So brilliantly and beautifully presented, flavoursome, delicate and moreish with every bite.



The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, the staff are fantastic and were on hand whenever we needed them. Food came out fairly quick, and it’s great to see the guys working in the kitchen and the banter back and forth between all of them.



The prices on the menu are extremely reasonable, both for the food and the drinks.



We definitely plan to go again and bring friends with us next time.

Lovely little Japanese in town, with nice mix of sushi and hot meals. You can order small or large portions of most, I am a big fan of trying several small dishes, especially at lunch so this option place suited me, plus you cant taste more of the menu!



The food tasted great, simple menu, big flavour, cooked perfectly and served the tapas way (as and when cooked), especially enjoyed the squid and pork belly. Service was faultless, waitresses were a credit. Reasonably priced. Often with new restaurants they dont tick all the boxes at first but I this one did well.



Will be back when Im not pregnant to sample the cocktails!

I went here with my friend yesterday for our tea. It was recommended as I love Japanese food and it did not disappoint. We had pork gyozas, teriyaki chicken and salmon, vegetable tempura, sticky rice noodles with soy - all amazing. Also the cocktails were gorgeous �

I booked a table for lunch yesterday as it was my husband's birthday. There was my hubby, my oldest son and me. We loved the food. Everything tasted really yummy. We had quite a variety of food such as prawn and avocado roll, hoisin duck roll, pork ramen soup ( we only order the small one but there was plenty to share between us) chicken katsu curry ( we didn't finish as we ordered large one!), I really enjoyed the pork gyoza, it's was very tasty. Our waiter was very friendly and he always checked on us in case we needed anything. I also ordered a Mai Tai cocktail which had plenty alcohol so in all a very lovely experience! We will definitely come back xx

Great place to go . Never been to a proper japanese restaurant. Been to yo sushi but this does not compare food outstanding really good. Staff warm friendly and quick to serve .very good value for money. I will definitely be going back . So anyone who wants a japanese experience at home give izakaya a try you won't be disappointed

Dined yesterday afternoon, couldn't fault the food. Loads of a small dishes and an 8 piece sashimi plate of salmon and tuna. Perfect for a light lunch. Causal dining with lovely staff in the heart of the business district.

Dined on a Saturday afternoon and this was the perfect spot for a catch up with friends. Food was amazing, and great waitress recommendations for sizes of dishes and what went well together. Can't wait to go back!

Changed my perception of Sushi, for the better. I visited last night with a few friends to try it out and it more than delivered. Service was chatty and friendly, food didn't take long and when it came it was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend a visit and would definitely recommend the Nigiri for any sushi lovers, best sushi I've ever tasted.

Amazing food � we had Katsu chicken curry and donburi (terriaki chicken) both dishes were gorgeous we loved it.

Everything was absolutely great apart from one small critique would be the chicken karage was very salty and think it may be better served less salty and in smaller, neater chunks as people eat with their eyes aswell as their pallet. Thanks for an overall great meal. Sushi was fresh and a nice treat... 😋

@His & Hers loved Izakaya. We had a brilliant meal in an intimate atmosphere. We got the impression that this was a labour of love. It seemed very important that people really enjoyed the experience.

Went in for the first time today and it was a mixture of good and bad I ordered the meat bento box and 6 pieces of crab sushi to take out! I got back to my office and the meat bento box was enjoyable with chicken Katsura and pork gyoza with sticky rice and pickles very nice and well worth the £8! When that was done I started on the sushi and was disappointed to find that my crab sushi (crab being one of my favourite dishes) turned out to be crabstick sushi, crab sticks contain very little, if any, crab! This was a big let down, I was quite disappointed as I was really looking forward to my crab sushi!

Visited last evening with friends to try somewhere new and chose Izakaya based on the great reviews and the amazing menu online. Food was very tasty and portion size just ok. Negative comments; shown to our table 20 minutes late and completely let down by the menu. We chose the restaurant solely based on the menu advertised on the website but when we turned up we were given a menu with less than half of what we were excited about. When we asked about it they simply told us this was the only menu which disappointed those excited about the extensive sushi menu. Overall an ok evening with tasty food but let down by simple things that could be rectified.
