Here at the Bagel Bar, we provide a wrap-around care system for the humble Bagel...for example, our Premium Bagels are always surrounded by carrots, cabbage & red onion marinated in cider vinegar, salt, pepper, a little sugar finished off with mustard mayo. While on our premises, the Bagels are never far from some healthy vege crisps & chilled Jazz music to ensure an holistic experience for all our Bagels. We charge £5.00 for this service. Of course, you can always save £1.00 & take away the lonely Bagel, deprive him of his natural environment...but you deal with the fall out!

Back to normal opening hours this week (8am - 5pm). Drop in for a rich, intense El Salvador coffee to get you through the early hours or a smooth, fruity Peruvian coffee to set you straight in the afternoon. Bagel of the week is ‘The Aussie’ - Beef, avocado, cream cheese, red onion & rocket for a special price of £3.50 all week. G’day Shiela!

Possibly the tastiest of all our bagels, “The Vegetarian” with roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, feta, olives & rocket is our Bagel of the week this week. Get it for £3.00 (take out) all week. (Due to staff holiday, The Bagel Bar will be open from 10.30am to 2.30pm this week...which still leaves you 8 half hour slots to enjoy your lunch time chill with fresh coffee, tasty bagels and cool Jazz!...you can have too much of a good thing you know)

Due to staff holiday, we are changing our opening hours for one week only, starting sat 28th July...opening at 10.30am & closing at 2.30pm. Back to normal from 6th August. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Despite our carefully designed Bagel selection which incorporates international flavours such as pesto (The Italian), Thai sweet chilli sauce (The Kickin Chicken) & avocado (The Mexican, The Aussie) some customers like to combine their own flavours to make their Bagel unique. Over the past 2 months we’ve had several mouth-watering combinations such as peanut butter, chorizo & cream cheese! Come and build you own Bagel because the customer is always right...

With France winning the World Cup today, our bagel of the week has to be le classique “French” - bacon, brie, tomato, rocket & cranberry sauce. It’s 50p off normal price and all proceeds will be used to help get more partially sighted people involved in refereeing football games...

So, with England beating Sweden yesterday, our most English of bagels - The ploughman - will stay at £2.50 for another 3 days...well done Gareth & the boys out there in Russia...really pleased for you...so happy...thanks a lot!

Need some help. Been trying to create a Swedish Bagel filling...but can’t get past pickled herring...! Any ideas...?

Here at the Bagel Bar, we don’t do “frothy coffee”. We prefer to grind our fresh coffee beans from El Salvador, Peru & Brazil, and then add hot water to produce a smooth, dark, pure coffee to help recharge your batteries. We were due to introduce out new range from Colombia next week, but they’ve suspended production due to high demand for holidays to Russia in mid July with their national team getting such an easy draw in the World Cup...

Don’t forget “Boogie Woogie Time” starts today, 2.30 - 4.30 pm...FREE tea & coffee with any cake! I tried to source some coffee from Panama but was told they’re fed up of giving us free stuff!

So, in the midst of the World Cup, a topical question: What have Brazil, Peru & El Salvador got in common...? Regulars at BWBB will know that these are all countries of origin for the coffee beans we grind on our premises before brewing them for 2 minutes to produce a smooth, intense boost to your day! What you may not know is that all of them will be offered FREE, from this Monday if you buy a slice of cake during “Boogie Woogie Time” (2.30 - 4.30pm). Keep it quiet...or we may run out of cake!

Apparently, some of you guys on Facebook are refusing to share or like this page because of an ungrounded fear that if too many people become aware of this little gem on Northgate that plays cool Jazz while you enjoy freshly made bagels and proper coffee, it will become too crowded and lose its unique, chilled appeal...that’s just selfish!

6 weeks in and we’re still boogieing on down at the Bagel Bar. Local delivery now on offer...unfortunately we can’t bring the music to your work place...but for a small tip, I will do my Louis Armstrong impression...(no one ever reads this stuff do they...?)

Refreshing change from the usual that's available. Had the time to sit inside and enjoy a delicious New York classic, great tasting coffee and a wonderful jazz playlist. Will be back again soon.

Just made my first visit to the bagel bar and it certainly won't be the last... The Manhattan bagel was amazing, shame I didn't have the time to enjoy it inside with a drink.

I finally got to visit here yesterday before work and was well worth the wait, got a gluten free breakfast bagel and it was to die for!!! Love the setting and the music, the gentleman who served me was so polite and pleasant even having the thought to tell me he can't promise the sausages are gluten free, great business and I wish it all the success x

Had lunch here today. Lovely fresh food, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Great food, great staff and great music! Would totally recommend!

Great takeaway today but wished I had the time to eat in and chill to the great jazz playing. Loads of smoked salmon with cream cheese and lemon drizzled over. Just like the bagels I’ve had over the decades in North London and North Leeds ......now on Northgate in Wakefield! Go visit folks! New and exciting place for takeaway or chilling inside.

Found this little gem not long ago while working in Wakefield. I have recently had the ‘French’ bagel and also the ‘Jazz Club’ �absolutely delicious!! The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is such a refreshing change to the usual sandwich or salad.

Brilliant atmosphere lovely staff and food was delicious will definitely return
