Reviews
Always been happy with the service here and so much quieter than the larger store in the shopping centre
I am a regular user of this small branch of Boots next to Waitrose - but not for much longer. I went into the shop and, as there were no other customers, walked straight up to the counter, smiling towards the two staff who were working there. And I waited. And waited. Despite being no more than two metres away, neither woman even acknowledged me, let alone gave a 'Good Morning' or 'I'll be with you in a minute'. They just carried on doing whatever they were doing, occasionally talking to each other. During the five minutes I stood there they continued to ignore me, other than a surreptitious glance to see if I was still there. Eventually I left the shop in frustration but, since they are holding my prescription drugs, I know that I will have to return once more. Perhaps I'll try again when I have a few hours to spare...
I don't write many reviews, and try to limit them to positive ones but this is not the first time I have experienced this kind of attitude in the St Georges branch. I have nothing particular against Boots as a company (other than the tax arrangements of the hedge fund which bought it!), but some very basic customer service lessons are really needed here.
