You can't go to York without popping into Bora Bora for a cheeky cocktail. Love watching the guys making the very tasty cocktails, quick service, good value for money & great atmosphere. Just love it!

We loved it at New Year with the husbands! Fab selection and visiting again this weekend with the girls and can’t wait! Get me a pina colada ready! ��

The pina colada is the best I’ve ever had in the Uk and I’ve travelled the Caribbean ....no lie ... Freddie is the best cocktail maker ... IN THE UK !

It is very nice coctail bar..and the service is very good..specially Eno and Giorgos.!

Best bar in york! Absolutely love it, has the best cocktails for such a good price and they are delicious.The music is excellent and it's the best place for a night out! The staff are all very friendly and there is very good customer service. It is very clean and I am always impressed when I go there. I don't have one complaint about it. Definitely a place to try!

Visiting for a cheeky post sightseeing and shopping cocktail, early evening on a Tuesday. I am the only customer! No sign of the bouncer reported in other not so favourable reviews, the service was prompt and I could taste all the listed ingredients on the menu in the 'Bora Bora Amaretto Sour' which was delicious and reasonably priced. Bear in mind I am visiting from England's overpriced South! Liking the music, a few other customers have wandered in whilst writing this, and I'm wondering what to choose next from the menu ....

It’s very good with a great selection of drinks but please could you consider either changing to paper straws or getting rid all together? My drink came with two for some reason. Thanks.

Visited this establishment last night. A few of us went b4 we met the bride to be spent a lot of money in here only for the bride to be to be told to take here vail and tiara off as they do not permit it. We were sat next to a very rowdy group of young girls obviously pissed out of their head (this was b4 7pm) nothing said to them about spoiling atmosphere for us ..... Will not be going back 😜

Nothing wrong with the bar and drinks shame about the surliness of one of the guys serving behind the bars, needs to sue the charm school, no excuse for that.

Visited here on Saturday night. The Mai Tai wasn’t very nice and there were certain members of staff that were quite rude and pushed past paying customers to get to the bar. Won’t be visiting again.

Very unpleasant situation at the bar tonight. I have been a customer for years and I always tend to suggest my groups of friends to visit and have drinks. Tonight I took some relatives visiting York from Italy and they experienced the lowest customer service I could ever imagine at the bar. The bargirl totally ignored me taking other people orders, despite the fact she saw me arriving before them .Then she loudly screamed a bad blasphemy in Italian with no reason, and she is not Italian. I found it very offensive and extremely disrespectful, especially in front of my guests. The Italian bartender apologised but we decided to leave the Bora Bora.

I really love the cocktails here but sadly today I ordered a pornstar martini and it was served without the shot of prosecco. When I queried it the barman was extremely rude and told me if I wanted it served with prosecco to go to Revolution instead. What an arse. Won’t be back !!

would give no stars if an option. visited york at the weekend as we have for the past several years. when arriving at the pub advised by doorman we could not enter his reason were there were 8 of us and there has to be less than 5. having later reviewed trip advisor selective entry seems to be a regular thing with the doorman. would not recommend or revisit if I was out with less friends

Loved it, apart from the fact that most of their cocktails contain nuts and they dont wash there mixers out properly! Lead my eye to swell and sicky feeling in my mouth! Not just that, there are alot of people out there with allergies severe luckily mine is only mild or it could of been a hell of a lot worse!!!

I used to like this bar, however the last time I went there with one of my friends the doormen were totally rude, they even told us “do you have a brain?” when my friend asked them to repeat what they were saying because the music was loud and she couldn’t hear them, when I told them this was a chauvinist act and asked them how on earth they could say something like that to a person they started laughing about it and mocking on us.

AVOID! I had one of the worst (and racist) experiences in this place ever since I got to York or the UK. I’ve never liked this place, it’s tiny and crowded, expensive and the music that they call Latin is just plain reggaeton.

Last night we went just to say hi and congratulate a friend that was celebrating her bday there, we didn’t even think on staying for long (I actually wanted to just wait outside). My friend came out and when we hugged the doorman rudely yelled us to move. While we were just saying hi to each other, the doorman was being super rude to other customers who wanted to get in (he even shouted violently at some drunk girls and blocked their way from getting inside, if there is any CCTV, you’ll see that).

The guard told us that it was full and that we couldn’t be there talking to our friend (outside, next to the entrance, without blocking it), so that she needed to either get back in or move from there, but he literally wanted us to move to the street and was zero polite. Then a manager came out, and very rudely as well said that we couldn’t get in (though we weren’t even trying! we were just there having a quick chat and actually we wanted to leave soon). Two more girls arrived for my friend’s bday and the manager said “if I get you all inside I’m gonna lose costumers”, thus I asked: do you realise what you just said? Why would you lose clients, that doesn’t make sense. Then he asked: “Where are you from? Do you have a permit to be here? an ID?”

I told him that he and the doorman were being very rude to the customers and that it was not a nice way to treat us. He interrupted me and said that I was not a customer (which I have been in the past and that’s how I know I dislike the place) because I was outside and off the limits (pointing at the line of the entrance) and that I would never be allowed to get in even I wanted to, that I was banned and no one would let me in ever (not that I was even trying anyways, I insist).

I can’t believe the owner has not done anything about the way staff treats customers after so many (years) complaints in FB and TripAdvisor. So, you have been warned (not being the first time) about the horrible attitude of the staff... go under your own risk.
