Hope you are all well and happy.Im sorry it's been a while since our last update but at last the work has started on your Borneo's.I had a meeting with everyone involved last Friday to hand over the keys to the builders.Im so pleased that I got the builder I wanted to do the work.However it's looking doubtful for us to open Good Friday as it's a total rebuild inside and i want to get it just right for us and you.Hopefully it wont be much lo...nger than that.I personally cant wait to get back up and running and IŌĆÖm pleased to say all of the same staff are coming back including the main man himself Chef Jing.As before please give us any suggestions on any new dishes to add to your favourites.Im sorry again for the continued delay guys but we will get there for you.Again I would like to thank all of you for your continued support and I ask you all to please continue to pray for us and our neighbors.Kind Regards Kevin,Remy and the Borneo team.

@borneobistro Hi Borneo lovers. Its now been 25 weeks since the fire.Im sorry itŌĆÖs been a while since I put out a message on social media. As lots of you may have seen if youŌĆÖve passed #Borneos the roof is now complete over the carpet shop and builders are about to start on ours.WeŌĆÖve had to wait so long because of the insurance final checks.The insurance company then had to put the work out to tender to 3 builders.So we are now waiting for the accepted builder to start the ...work.The building is now an empty shell ready for the work to start. IŌĆÖve recently had a meeting with my chef to talk about new dishes we would like to put on as IŌĆÖve had lots of requests for vegan food and vegetarian dishes.Obvioulsy itŌĆÖs still early days but we know we will be keeping all the dishes we had on before and adding some new dishes including vegan and vegetarian dishes.So donŌĆÖt worry all your favourites will still be on.I donŌĆÖt know about you guys but IŌĆÖm really missing the rice,crispy chicken and beef rending combo.We recently put out a message that we are trying to get open around the Good Friday time. We are still working to that date but we will keep you in touch with the progress.Dont worry though everyone your Borneos will be back.I would again like to thank everyone for their support. The kind words from everyone have been great for us all and have kept us motivated.I ask that you please continue to pray for us and especially our neighbors to get back open ASAP.Best wishes from Kevin,Remy and the Borneo team.

Visited for the first time on Wednesday and it defo won't be the last! Food was amazing and the owner was brilliant, took the time to explain what everything was and said we could try before we decided what we wanted. Brilliant service!

One of the best places to eat the northeast. A hidden gem. Kevin the owner is very accommodating and can help you pick a dish if your not sure what you want.

Me and my work mates always go here if we are working in Sunderland. I took my wife a few weeks ago and she now loves it. We travel up from Middlesbrough for it because the food is the best I've tasted.

I had Beef Rendang before and fell inlove with it, thatŌĆÖs why it is my new favorite. I was looking forward to taste their Goat Kaldereta and the long wait is over. Darn! It is soo good... Saucy Spicy Kaldereta the best ever... As soon as it posted GoatŌĆÖs available today, I rang right away to reserve my order... Huge portion. I first tried Borneo Bistro about 3 or 4 years ago when a family friend told us that her cousin had a takeaway on Hylton Road where the food was delicious, her cousin is Kev who owns the business. The first time I tried his food I fell in love with the genuine Phillapine cuisine. The food is fresh, delicious, perfectly cooked every single time and well, I could go on and on but trust me when I say that the first time you try his dishes you'll be back for seconds! Also if you are not familiar with the dishes he has on offer he will be more than happy to give you a little fast to see if you like it before you buy it. This is a great and unique way of not wasting money on something you end up not enjoying. Kevin and all his staff are such a friendly, polite, humble and 100% genuine people. You can see that he has a huge passion for this type of food and thrives off being able to provide something different and exotic for his locals peeps in Sunderland. Thanks for the food mate. Had my 1st Borneo experience today, I have to say the staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a huge variety of food, I opted for beef rendang and Thai red chicken curry with noodles, the food was amazing really tasty and a huge portion, the beef and chicken were so tender, I will definitely be back, thanks

Been here for the first time today with my wife and I must say the food was fantastic much better than panda or the other top buffet places I've been to we will definitely be frequenting the place again.

Beef rendang, chicken Thai curry and rice. Menu different every night. Great idea Absolutely amazing food. 1st time will be back and definitely recommend.

As always top quality grub. Kev and his staff are fantastic, never too busy for a quick chat. Theres so much to choose from but i can never get away from the Beef Randang and Jerk Chicken. My favorate place to Eat!!! 100% top notch and a must try, you wont be disappointed.

Amazing food, good value for money and the staff are unbelievable. Their crispy chicken is definitely better than KFC! A wide range of food to suit everybody. I would definitely recommend coming here!

1st time at Borneo bistro and it won't be the last.the food is phenomenal at a very reasonable price staff were very welcoming and the facilities are very clean.

Not only is the Asian food great but they also do a fab full English breakfast. Also if you go on Saturday morning, the young asian girl who serves sings too! I love this place, Kev and Remi have it spot on.
