A few months ago when there seemed to be no end in sight to the wet weather we never expected it to turn around and be more warm and dry than usual this early in April. This means we’ve managed to get the vast majority of our maize drilling done, and some of the first fields we drilled at home have poked through already. As the second year with the Lemken Azurit maize drill we have seen some great crops with excellent cobs as a result of the twin row technology. So this winters project was the conversion of our old engine slurry pumping to mobile remote control unit. Since being finished it’s proved to be a very valuable part of the slurry pumping setup, making our operation even more efficient. The Perkins V8 is well up to the job and equipped with our control system. This new system has been designed, made and fitted by us at home, which can be accessed from any smartphone or tablet. We’ve been busy ploughing up and drilling wheat on maize ground over the past few weeks. Even the old 716 is in on the action, still going strong 💪🏻

So last week we got to have a play with a Krone Big X 780. Thanks to David Eaton Tractors LTD and Krone UK for sorting the demo. We were very impressed 👍🏻🌽🌽
