Wow what a day at the Dogs in Motion seminar with Dr Martin Fischer!
Such a fantastic opportunity to hear & see so much research into all aspects of locomotion and so much more, at times offering a completely new insight! ๐๐๐ Looking forward to putting into practice & sharing some of this exciting information with all of my lovely patients ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ

๐๐ NEW SCENTWORK WORKSHOP ๐๐
Sunday 14th October in Spondon, Derbyshire.
Interested in trying something different with your dog? Ever watched them on a walk and thought how amazing their sense of smell must be?
... Then why not join us for a scentwork workshop with Ellen Lindley of Canine Cooperation, where your dog can show you how amazing their nose really is! After all did you know that โdogs have approximately 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to only around 6 million in us.โ
This 3 hour workshop is suitable for dogs who have done a scentwork workshop before or complete beginners. It is open to all ages & breeds, and suitable for older dogs or those with reduced mobility but who still want to โbe activeโ.
Handler spaces are limited to 6 to make sure you get the most from the session. Spectator spaces (without dogs) are also available if you want to see what itโs all about.
There will be 2 sessions during the day, a morning group from 10am-1pm & an afternoon group from 2-5pm, if you have a preference please indicate this when reserving your space.
Working spaces are ยฃ30 each & spectator spaces are ยฃ15 each.
Refreshments will be provided.

Iโve been very lucky to work with some amazing owners and see the work they do to help their dogs, from following exercise plans, to tweaking their daily routines & even doing some home improvements for their dogs benefit!
I provide a written report of every treatment session as I know it can be hard to remember everything that was said/done in that session, but if you have any ideas how I can improve things please let me know. After all my priority is always to provide the b...est experience & the best treatment for you and your dogs ๐ถ๐ถ
In the mean time keep up the good work guys!

A physio session with a difference... Taking a few snaps to hopefully feature on some new promo materials! ๐ท Hereโs a few of my favourites starring โBouncing Back Boysโ Max & Benji ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐
This week is looking like itโs going to be a hot one โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ so make sure you keep your dogs safe by going for walks during the coolest parts of the day (early morning and/or late evening) ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐๐
They may be small, but grass seeds can cause a lot of trouble! Giving your dog a quick check over after a walk can help stop them getting stuck and causing an issue.
๐ก IDEAS NEEDED! ๐ก
Do you have something physiotherapy and/or dog related that you would love to know more about or a question that you would like answering? ๐ค๐ค
From next week I am planning on writing a weekly blog/post covering a different doggy topic each time, so if you have something you want to hear about then please get in touch & Iโll do my best to provide an informative answer!
... Current ideas include: - Common (& not so common!) conditions - Exercise - Anatomy - Physiotherapy techniques & equipment - Body condition scoring - Senior dogs - Joint supplements
So if you (or your dog!) have any ideas please get in touch, as I would love to hear from you!
Stay tuned next week for the first post all about... Brain Games ๐ง ๐ถ

New uniform just arrived & itโs already covered in dog hairs curtesy of Benji - starting as we mean to go on! ๐๐ถ Thanks Chameleon Design and Print Ltd it looks great (even with the dog hairs!) ๐
My border collie, Meg, has been treated by Becky twice now. I was rather worried by an occasional stiff hind leg after rest in the evening. She is a very active dog - long walks combined with agility and obedience. Becky was most professional and treated Meg quietly and gently. Thankfully I have not seen the stiffness since her first treatment. I fully intend a regular three monthly visit and could highly recommend Beckyโs services.
Dave was assessed by Becky following a very busy Agility season to make sure there were no hidden injuries before he competes again. Her calm and gentle approach ensured that he relaxed, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There were several times he was almost asleep, which for an anxious collie, is quite an achievement. He will be assessed by Becky at regular intervals going forward, to ensure he remains fit and well. I wouldnโt hesitate to recommend Becky to anyone, she does an absolutely fantastic job!!! Thanks Becky!!
Becky came to see Tilly at home for an assessment to make sure that she was fit for her agility competitions. Tilly can be quite nervous with new situations, but Becky was so good with her that Tilly enjoyed the whole experience. Becky did a thorough assessment, explained everything as she went along, and gave her the treatment that she needed. Since then, Tilly has been enjoying her agility and has even won some rosettes! If you are thinking of having your dog assessed/treated, I would recommend getting in contact with Becky. I will be booking another appointment later in the year to make sure that Tilly is still fit and healthy.
Becky came to see Foz ...a rather scatty spitz for his first appointment.
With Becky's gentle approach he really did relax and he was assessed.
Foz does agility,& I felt that I should get him checked over,he is not a fast dog,but I was keen to know if he had any issues. He was tense in the hind legs, but massage and stretching in the right place's has helped.
Becky worked on him in various ways..(think his fave was the pulse pad) he does like to stand on his hind legs more now..Thanks again Becky.xx
