Boundary Community Launderette

We're really looking forward to this, it's organised by the folk who make the Boundary Estate Fun Palace. It's free and for all Boundary Estate residents, the Boundary Guides and Boundary Women's Project are involved too - it will be a good way to get meet old friends and get to know your neighbours. It's a bring-and-share lunch so take food to share if you can.

We wish all of our customers, neighbours and friends who are celebrating a very peaceful and happy Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid Mubarak.

This looks amazing! The team who have bought you Fun Palaces since 2016 have "Eight Great Dates" planned from June until October, all free and for everyone, and at St. Hilda's. First is a Great Get Together bring-and-share lunch on 29th June, 1-4pm, with a string quartet and traditional playground games; then over three Wednesdays and three Saturdays from July to September there will be 6 "Skill Sharing Cafes" -mini Fun Palaces with chances to try new things, and chat with old and meet new neighbours over a cuppa; finally will be the annual Fun Palace on 5th October.

Not long until the third Boundary Estate Fun Palace - please spread the word. Over 20 free activities for everyone over the weekend of 6th and 7th October, made by residents for the whole community.

This will be a superb event, each years it gets better!

Our neighbours at Columbia Road TRA are having their summer fête today at Ravenscroft Park from 1.30 and it looks like it will be a good afternoon!

It's almost that time of year again - the third Boundary Estate Fun Palace looks like it's going to be another great event and it's over two days this year. If you have arts, craft or science skills you'd like to share, or if want to help on the day, get in touch with the organisers.

Thankfully things are a bit different now. Our little not-for-profit community launderette has been open since September 1992, started by residents and still overseen by local volunteer directors.

Ramadan Mubarak to all of our friends and customers observing the blessed month. We wish you and all of our customers and friends peace, happiness and health.

We're closed all over the Easter weekend, reopen Tuesday at 8am. This and Christmas is the only time the two voluntary directors have a little break from their unpaid work for the community business, and they've been on call since September 1992.
With all the talk of the gender pay gap at the moment this may be a good time to point out that all staff are paid the same rate, the Living Wage Foundation London rate for all our staff. There is no gender pay gap in at the community launderette, equality is at the heart of what we do. None of the directors receive any payments.
