About Boundary Park

Boundary Park Pavilion. Clubhouse of Didcot Rugby Club, Didcot Cricket Club and Harwell & Hendred Youth Football Club. Bar and function rooms for hire.

Boundary Park Description

Boundary Park is a brand new multi-sports facility situated within Great Western Park in Didcot. It contains 17 ½ acres of amenity grass land encompassing two cricket pitches, two rugby pitches, one full size football pitch and five junior pitches of assorted sizes. All of the pitches have been built to Sport England specifications along with modern drainage systems to ensure that fabulous playing surfaces are provided all year round.
The pitches are serviced by a two floor pavilion which houses six 20 Person Changing rooms and a social space which includes a bar, kitchen and function room. There is an outdoor terrace overlooking the main cricket pitch, perfect for summer evenings.
Boundary Park is leased from both South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils by Boundary Park Sports Association. This is a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation which has been set up with the specific aim of managing these facilities.
Boundary Park is home to Didcot Cricket Club, Didcot Rugby Union Football Club and Harwell & Hendred Youth Football Club. The pitches are available to other local clubs for hire when not in use by these clubs and being as it is a public park, the public can use the grass areas for general recreation when not in use by the sports clubs.

Due to a private function the bar and function room will be closed on Saturday. However never fear the bar will be moving outside and the beer tent will be well stocked for all those spectators coming to watch the rugby. Bar opens at 12pm.
There will also be burgers and hotdogs available to buy from 12th Didcot Scouts to keep you all nourished.

Absolutely over the moon to now have our own marquees that we can use for our summer events. These are also available for any community group to use in the park for their events.
A huge thank you to Councillor Steve Connel from South Oxfordshire District Council who awarded us money through his Councillor community grant fund which allowed us to purchase them.
In awarding us this grant Cllr Connel commented "From the day it opened Boundary Park has been a great example of h...ow a community facility can be run. Yes, it provides our residents with very high level sporting opportunities, but more importantly to me they are clearly an Association that takes great effort and pride in ensuring that no matter which age group, ability level or gender, all of the players (and their families) feel part of something positive. I’m glad to be able to provide Boundary Park Sports Association with this grant."

User

Love it, great prices in a shiny new place for the clubs to grow. This isjust the start for Didcot Rugby!

User

Fantastic place for the local sports clubs and community, a real credit to Great Western Park. Good priced beer and lovely staff also!

User

Came here for the first time last week having moved into our house 6 months ago. Was a bit weary that it would be like a dreary social club where you often don't feel welcome- but wasn't like that at all! Great facilities and had a great evening! Wish we had been braver and tried it earlier.

User

Brilliant sports facility and excellent place to go for a drink. Starting to host a wide variety of events as well.

User

User

Big thanks to Boundary Park and the staff for providing the location for our daughters 14th Birthday Party!,

fantastic facility’s and a super size hall for everyone to enjoy a fun filled evening of dancing and partying!!

User

We went to see the facilities for the first time at Octoberfest, I liked the balcony and could see the potential for events and functions, nice family orintated and friendly, nice to be out with our toddler and not feel bad for his running around and playing :) , will look out for events on the future,

User

Disappointing!!

Great sporting venue to play at, not so much as a spectator. We were there for Rugby 🏉 on Sunday 1st October. The weather wasn’t too bad but the families of the players would have loved to be able to get a tea or coffee to drink whilst watching the teams play.

With the facilities on offer, why is there no one capitalising on it and making a few quid for the clubs involved. I’m sure every penny would be gratefully received as it is at Abingdon Rugby Club where there is always a coffee and bacon sandwich on offer.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

Well where do I start..... just to make everyone aware my auntie along side others was hosting a CHARITY event for the children's ward at the John Radcliffe hospital which was amazing plenty of laughs and sun was out it was all great! We cleared up all the rubbish into black bags and put them in the bins provided outside of the park to which then we were told we had to take the rubbish with us as it costs the venue too much for them to clear the rubbish and they were not willing to pay! Whilst standing and shouting at kids and women the guys then proceeded to lock the gates and keep everyone in there hostal because of 6 carrier bags rubbish that were in a 'communal bin' (there words not mine) I said one thing about the bin and one guy got up in my face saying threatening things and when I told him to back off he then told me in these exact words 'if I didn't shut my mouth he would knock me out as he is an ex army' at which point I was disgusted than any man would speak to a women like that!

There is no way on this earth that I would ever go back to this place they are truly vile creatures and I hope they get what's coming to them! Like they say 'karma is a bitch' I'm done.

User

Play to give held a brilliant charity event for family's to enjoy all towards a great charity, just such a shame members of staff were seen shouting at young boys for kicking a bit of mud and stall holders for being 3 centre meters over a line.

User

Lovely family event run by amazing bunch of people who gave up their time to raise money for local charity however the boundary staff shouting abuse at the stall holders at the end and locking the gate over not taking the rubbish disgraceful behaviour from grown men will not be recommending this venue to anyone.

User

I attended a lovely family fun day held by play 2 give today which was great, but the downside well where do I begin the disgusting rude staff that claimed to work for this place, held hostage people at the event in the field putting people in the way of the gates and were refusing to let them leave, they then began swearing at people that were running stalls at the event, asked for the field to be cleaned which was completed but they then refused to take rubbish and gave out all different excuses and made up stories as they went along if they didn't want the rubbish left behind why wasn't the bin area locked up? And why was the terms and conditions never written down and signed and agreed by both parties? Felt like they had gone out of their way to ruin a charity day which was for a good cause for sick children. Honestly all in all I would stay clear and certainly never recommend!

User

Horrible to everyone especially children (shouting in there faces) tried to lock my mum and her car in the park because people left rubbish in the bins, kept bringing my mum down when all the money was towards play 2 give for jr hospital do not recommend it what so ever
