About Bourne Community Bus

The Bourne Community Bus provides FREE resident travel. We have two 16 seat minibuses with easy disabled lift access, so you can just turn up at one of 20 stops and get on and then get off where you want. The bus runs every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8: 30 – 18: 00 around local villages and uses safe pick up and drop-off points for passengers. The minibus is for local residents of all ages, regardless of physical ability. It offers essential transport links for those living off main train and bus routes, giving easy access to local shops, social activities, health centres and Bourne Community College for after-school activities. Thorney Island Baker Barracks, Chidham and Hambrook, Southbourne and Westbourne Parishes and Emsworth Resident's Association have come together to offer this new community minibus, run and managed by the Southbourne Community Land Trust. For Bourne Parish residents: Eight 60 to 80 minute circuits per day around Southbourne, Nutbourne, Hambrook, Westbourne and Emsworth on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The bus provides resident travel to shops and social centres in Havant, Emsworth and Chichester and easy access to doctors and dentists and links with rail stations and A259 bus routes. For Thorney Island residents: shopping trips to Havant, Emsworth and Chichester on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Havant train station on Friday afternoon for weekends visiting friends and family.
