⛔️ EVENT CANCELLED ⛔️
Due to the setup of the Bournemouth Marathon Festival half and full marathon, which takes place this Sunday, we have had to make the decision to cancel parkrun this week as we cannot guarantee your safety ☹️ Despite our best efforts to get in contact with both the organisers and specific council departments, all attempts have failed. As our priority is your safety we feel that we have no choice but to cancel this weeks event.
... We shall however, return next Saturday and look forward to seeing you all then 😀

🆘 VOLUNTEERS DESPERATELY NEEDED FOR THIS WEEKS PACING EVENT 🆘
Despite volunteer emails and Facebook requests, we do not at present have enough marshals for this weeks pacing event to safety go ahead ☹️ and we really don’t want to have to cancel this weeks run 🤞🏻
Pacing events are incredibly popular but your safety must come first. ... We are currently short of funnel managers and course marshals.
On a separate note our visually impaired runner David, is looking for a guide to help him around the course this Saturday.

❌ Just a reminder that the cafe will be closed this week. However, the small room at the end of the cafe will be open so you will still be able to leave your bags, jacket and drinks etc inside.

As in previous years our friends from Bournemouth Joggers will be taking over the volunteering roles this week. The lamination station will also be available.

New volunteers week. This is a chance for all of you, who for whatever reason have yet to volunteer at Bournemouth parkrun to come forward and give it a go. Core team members will be around to help and full training for roles will be given. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK

This event is life changing for so many people every week. I have been coming for a while & this morning I had a few Slimming World members join along too. They loved it & everyone was so supportive. So a massive thank you xxx

The Marshalls and organisers make you feel so welcome that you just want to come back for more! Oh and the running's great too!

Our first run at Bournemouth whilst away for the weekend, loved the route, loved the pacers, even loved the fact that there were nearly 400 runners! fantastic!

On holiday from Sheffield, dragged my sorry butt out of bed this morning to add another parkrun to my tally. Lovely course, lovely event and, of course, lovely volunteers. Thank you �

On a business trip from Darlington to the South Coast last week and managed to squeeze in a Parkrun with the lovely people of Bournemouth! Very well organised, excellent marshalls and a great atmosphere. Thanks for your hospitality!

I have gone to every parkrun this year and not going to stop. Volunteers are wonderful and my fellow runners are very kind! Definitely would recommend coming along! All new runners are welcome!

First time on Saturday the 2nd of December and it was great !! Felt really welcomed and encouraged. Will try come more and more.

Fantastic atmosphere. Came as a visitor and it ended up being the 4th Birthday celebrations. Made to feel so welcome and it was a great course. Thank you to all the volunteers, we literally couldn't run this without you

Enjoyed this one. Flatish, fast and mixed terrain. Ideally placed for a warm up and warm down there and back and in the perfect location if you want to incorporate it into your long run!

Did my first run today, totally shattered and came last (someone has to) but just want to thank all the runners that gave encouragement as they passed, really kept me going x

Brilliant event, very well organised. Its great to see the different ages and abilities of all the parkrunners, really feels like a community event. Ran with my 8 year old son today on this first parkrun!

All parkruns are great.

Everyone I've been to (14 so far) is warm and welcoming.

What is special about Bournemouth?

Great start, very wide, so able to run straight away. Three laps is not so good, as I get overtaken more by the faster runners. Mix of tarmac, grass and dirt tracks.

Post race, there are showers and changing rooms and a cafe where I enjoyed a great sausage butty.

A very friendly inclusive group. Been attending semi-regularly now for 3 years and absolutely love it!

It's a wonderful thing to run with all sorts of people even people you don'r know.

It's great adventure!
