Bowness Bay Marina - Windermere Boat Hire
Reviews
Highly recommend this on a nice day. You have to book in advance via phone if it’s a busy period and I’d say ring a day before arriving. They give you a quick safety guide and you’re on your way. The boats are to high standard and the buoys are easy to navigate. I’d recommend sticking to the middle of the lake so your not avoiding the ferries the whole trip. It takes 1 hr to go all the way north to Ambleside none stop. If you plan to do this with some time to stop and eat in the water I’d recommend 3 hrs. £40 deposit has to be guaranteed with your card as well as paying up front on the phone. To the owners I’d recommend online booking.
Any Lake swimmers? These are your guys for a backup boat. Very helpful when we wanted an early start and provided lifejackets for the crew. Quick dropoff at the end of the day too when we were shattered, good lads working there.
Great that there is a jetty provided free to the public here and it is only a short walk into Bowness, some toilets would be handy though
Really fun to take a boat out on the lake with such freedom. Long lines in school holidays and cheaper boats sell out quicker - be prepared for a £30 deposit for the more expensive types.
Great fun and reasonable price.
Thorough safety talk before you're let loose in the boat.
Friendly staff and easy to operate all electric.
Very reasonable prices, friendly staff and a chance to explore the lake at a relaxing pace.
This is a great day out, lovely shops and a superb boat trip on Lake Windermere.
Lots of roadworks at the moment but its all getting improved for the better
Best view in Bowness! Friendly & helpful. Really nice toilet & showers. We feel safe leaving our boat here knowing it's in good hands. Easy short walk from everything we need. Feels like a home from home. Couldn't be happier!
