Boxall Walker Minerals is a recent start-up with the vision to be a concept redefining enterprise in the gold mining industry. We aim to lease land in mineral-rich Rupa, Uganda, and transform the area's informal subsistence mining sector into a modern, ethical and profitable operation; via use of appropriate technologies and application of the latest management strategies. Rupa is located in the Moroto province of the Karamoja subregion, a land torn apart by decades of conflict and deprivation. The recent stabilisation of the area by the Ugandan military has opened up opportunities for investment in the area's rich deposits of gold and other minerals. These resources are yet to be fully exploited and are easily accessible as the locals mine for subsistence using the basic hand tools.
