Boys And Girls Clubs South Yorkshire

Boys and Girls Clubs of South Yorkshire delivers youth services across South Yorkshire to over 4, 000 young people between eight and 18. We operate over 30 youth clubs in some of the most deprived areas of the county – young people who come to them feel safe, listened to and supported. Family support structures have changed. Many young people are becoming increasingly isolated and anxious behind closed doors. Peer pressure has a big part to play in their lives, influencing wrong decisions around crime, drugs, online bullying, sexual behaviour and inappropriate relationships. Boys and Girls Clubs is run by experienced and professional youth workers who build trust and influence young people in a way in which other adults cannot. We are well placed to build trust and foster positive, influential relationships between young people and youth workers, which is crucial to help them to recognise and overcome the serious challenges they face in order to achieve their potential. We provide young people with safe and supportive environments in which to meet, which enables young people to create and build trusted relationships with our youth workers. Through games and social interaction, we help young people build their self-confidence and gain self-esteem, and to create friendship networks with other young people. With the continuation and growth of our youth clubs and youth working, we can keep supporting schools to rehabilitate young people back into education and work, increasing skills in the region.
