Brainstorm Interactive : Interactive multimedia Production

Music was a shared passion at school with photography (Inspired by a keen amateur photographic Father) learned with trumpet in the Joseph Leckie school / Co-op orchestra and the Tipton dance band playing Glenn Millar. The love of music has never diminished and with inspiration taken from Motown and Soul at school and later at a VIP visit to Paul McCartney's band Wings, whilst my sister toured with the band, teaching art to Paul's children, guitar was learned. Not so much Paul's but Hamish Stuart's, (Average White Band) who played with them. Loved the power of music and the effect it had on the crowd and atmosphere at the time.

Inspired by Garry Moore's 'Parisienne Walkways and 'Still Got the Blues', I saved up and purchased a wine red Gibson Les Paul, Marshall amp and guv'nor pedal and never looked back. Learn guitar I did, played day after day whilst in between photo assistants jobs in London. Can still play those two emotive tracks, memory allowing and practice when time and environment allows!

Then came the University degree that introduced Interactive multimedia, heaven! A combination of interrelated complexities of the arts, Music, Photography, Images, Text, Interface Design, HCI, Interaction and Video.

Brainstorm Interactive was established in 1995 to meet the demand for creative interactive multimedia CD design and production. Training courses were created after progress of an authorised Macromedia training course and experience in corporate and academic delivery, which eventually lead to being the first independent freelance authorised trainer in the UK and Europe.

Since that time Brainstorm Interactive went on to sell Apple computers and peripherals as an independent retailer.
Apple then went on to set up their own retail shops and our market changed mainly to minor retail, corporate training and interactive multimedia development and production.

We owe our inspiration in interactive multimedia to the brothers Robyn and Rand Miller at Cyan who produced 'Myst' a graphic adventure game, of which we are still avid fans.
