The Bell at Stapleford Cemetery will ring 12 bells at 12 from today.
The Bell has been refurbished by the company who originally supplied it 134 years ago.
John Taylor Bell Foundry returned to the site, 134 years after they first installed it to collect the bell and it has since been reinstalled, the bell will ring 12 bells at midday each day and may also be used as part of burial services and events.
... Join us from 11.30am today at Stapleford Cemetery to hear the Bell finally ring again.

Christmas can be a difficult time for many people who have lost loved ones and are trying to cope with bereavement. Here are some tips shared with us from Cruse Bereavement Care to help people cope during the festive season. Please fee free to share.

Our Memory Tree is available in the Book of Remembrance room. Christmas tags are available for you to write a message and hang on the tree to remember loved ones this Christmas. The tree already has lots of tags on it, including this very special tag from a little boy who said that his tag was especially for all the soldiers who fought and lost their lives in the war.

A big thank you to everybody who came to today’s Christmas Remembrance Service, all those who organised the service and all of those who took part. In particular Rev Michael Grantham for taking the service, Janine Nicole and Lyndsay Johnson for the beautiful songs, Joanne from Gillotts for reading the poem Pennies From Heaven, and Jane and Richard from A W Lymn along with our very own Andy Hands for reading the list of names during the act of remembrance. Also thanks to Staff... from the crematorium for organising the event, Caroline for looking after the remembrance tree in the book room, Emma and Sally for assisting those who wanted to light a candle and for providing drinks and refreshments, Drew and Ray for their hard work setting up the chapel and Louise for manning the music. We hope that all of those who attended had a lovely time and we would like to wish you all the best for the festive season.

My daughter and I took my Mum this afternoon to collect the flowers from my Dads funeral that took place yesterday before they all wilted in the sun or were eaten by the rabbits.

I have to say the grounds man Steve was absolutely fantastic & nothing was too much trouble. He organised to bring the flowers to our cars and loaded them up for us. We also asked where the woodland walk was as my Dads ashes were going to be scattered there & although he’d finished his work for the day offered to take us! We weren’t rushed and he told us all about how the Woodland Walk came about - he even offered to get us a drink. Steve totally put my Mum at ease and showed total compassion at such an emotional time!

Steve - your customer service is amazing! And in the words of my Dad - ‘You deserve a medal as big as a frying pan’! A true gent!
