We are a UK developer of cross-border, online direct lending platforms for emerging markets. We design and build platforms through integrating world-class Fintech tools and services and producing localized solutions. We employ Open Source software and technologies, proprietary middleware and APIs and third party Widgets to create integrated, customized solutions. The first version of our cross-border, emerging markets online direct lending platform is customized for Brazil and branded as ‘Brasil Empresta'. In the developed world, banking is a mature business with single-digit returns; online marketplace lending is competitive with many new entrants and pressure on returns. In contrast, in many emerging markets traditional banks are making vast profits in consumer and SME lending and there are few, if any, online lenders. In such markets, lending platforms have the potential to deliver returns which are a multiple of those availablein the USA and Europe from investments of similar risk and volatility. With the ubiquity of fast broadband, smart phones and large numbers of tech-savvy, credit-worthy borrowers in emerging markets, there are bigopportunities to be seized in online lending. However, to do it well requires deployment of customized technology and sound lending practices.
