Weather permitting we are very excited to be playing once again this weekend at the York City Knights' game at Bootham Crescent! It is always a pleasure to be able to set the tone for the fans coming into the stands or anyone lining up for the pre game pint! If you are coming to the game then keep an eye out for us and say hello!

We have just arrived home after playing our first gig with some of our new members; we had so much fun and we were brilliant! Even though we had some newer players everyone stepped up to the mark and we had a fantastic performance which was a lot of fun.
Watch out York, soon we will be playing on the streets...

We have recently said goodbye to our fantastic trumpeters Lissie Daly and Sam reese and our famous dancing saxophonist Mike Hillesdon. Although we are sad to see them leave we are sure that they will join us on the odd session out in York and perhaps even play at events if we need some veterans to come help the group! That having been said.... we would like to welcome some fantastic new players to the group! Although they have played for us in the past (and obviously made an ...impression) we would like to welcome Cameron McArthur and Em Roberts on trumpet and Faye Thompson on the Sax (we are not sure yet whether she can fill the big dancing shoes of Mike!). We are planning to go out busking with these rosy cheeked members of the group so keep an eye on this page. We will put up on here when we are busking so you can plan a lovely little holiday to York with a groovy welcome when you get here. If you have a friend who's planning an event that needs a little sprucing up with some fun funky vibes then why not drag them along!

We had a lovely time playing at East Riddlesden Hall the other day for their wedding fair and meeting loads of lovely people planning for such a big day! Thanks for those who have already got in touch both for this year and next! 😮. If you are thinking about hosting an event this summer and would like an affordable and easy going group to add some lively attitude with no extra faff then do get in touch with us. (We do get busy quite quick over the hols!)

Now that the madness of dissertation work has ceased and the sun is coming out we will be going out most weekends in York! We already have quite a few gig's across the summer holidays and we will be picking up some more as we play. So if you need a fun easy going group for an event in summer get in touch! Or if you would like to see us play then do keep your eyes peeled or switch on notifications from us and we will be posting on here in advance when we are out and about in town.

Attention all BrassaNova enthusiasts! We are back tomorrow morning in York from 10 till around 12 (longer if we have thousands of adoring fans ofc) We will update you when we have our spot laid out and all our workout stretches done. (our Sax Mike really does stretch so he can do his famous boogie moves)

New year means a new US! After a long break to focus on our studies we are raring to go and get out there on our weekends. If you've been part of the family here for a while or you're a new supporter then do check the page for updates for when we are busking. If nothing else its a good excuse to get rid of the shrapnel in your pocket towards good music and young performers ;)

Thanks to Shelly Bob's for a fantastic night at her wedding! Was an amazing night and quite a throwback to a year ago as it was the first gig we ever booked! Here's to many more in the future :) (not quite how trombones work)

We have a very exciting weekend coming up! Of course there is also the football but more importantly we have some fun gigs this Saturday and Sunday. Our arrangement of 'Three Lions on a shirt' will either be the best thing ever or very inappropriate...

Tonight Brassanova will be playing at a charity fundraiser for the Mind charity which does fantastic work raising awareness of mental health issues, the concert is at 7:30 at the Belfrey church in York and it would be amazing to see some people come out to support such a fantastic charity!

To those of you who want to know what a uni student looks like when they get out of bed at 6am, or indeed before midday, or those who just want to see how much of our trombonists hair has grown back since he shaved it off (not enough); get into town today! We will be busking outside of Betty's 11-1 so come say hi 🙂

We are very excited to be playing for Make It York this Thursday in the Shambles for the opening of the York Market! We'll be playing from 10-2 so if you want some tunes for your lunch break come by and find us and check out the lovely market. (here's fingers crossed for good weather)

The day has brightened up nicely with a proper blue sky overhead! We are set up outside Betty's and will be cracking off 11 till 1. If you're a friend of the band in town please come say hi!

We are going to be going out busking again this Sunday after the fantastic reception we had last week! We are armed with new material and a beautiful sign made by a good friend of ours. We'll be out between 11-1 hopefully outside Betty's but we'll let you know on the day!
