Wonderful ambience and French food at it’s very best. The best tarte tatin I have ever had.

Service was excellent and an amazing choice of food.

User

We visited Bar Americain for the first time on Saturday 23rd June at lunchtime. Such an amazing place. Service was excellent. We can't wait to visit London again so that we can visit the restaurant as well. We will recommend to all our friends.

User

This really is how a restaurant should be, from the firm but fair front of house (the bolshy woman behind me in the queue that was asked politely then told politely to wait her turn will probably rate one star), to the calm and efficient waiting staff not to mention consistently good food and extensive wine list by the glass, bottle and carafe. This is a keeper.

User

This is the place for a memorable experience in a grand Parisian, Art Deco venue with great food, drinks, ambience and service. A gem in London! I loved the sea food selection, including oysters! Really enjoyed my birthday celebration and the selection of food and drinks. The manager and all staff were very attentive and hospitable. Thank you again for a wonderful evening and surprising me with a personalised birthday chocolate torte!

User

Superb atmosphere both in the restaurant and for the show. The food was as good as you'd get in France! We saw Gary Williams who was very good indeed and the intimate atmosphere for the show was awesome!

User

My husband an i came to your brasserie to celebrate our 24th Wedding Anniversary, first impressions was WOW!! Then we had your food second impression, WOW!!! The food was sooo melt in the mouth delicious.

I had le escargots in garlic butter then then the fillet of salmon with fennel sauce washed down with Muscadet et Loire. My husband had the pea and mint soup followed by boeuf Bourguignon washed down with Orange and pineapple juice.

Thank you so much for a lovely evening

User

Lovely ambience

Immaculate service

And a lovely old fashioned menu with all the classics

I had sole with salmon mousse

Haven’t had that for years!

We were in London for a weekend

This made us feel like we were on holiday abroad

Excellent value

User

Breathtaking decor, excellent service and lovely menu including a separate vegetarian menu which is nice rather than just a couple of choices.

Was unsure on our wine choice but was offered a taster, lovely touch.

Highly recommend, close to Piccadilly station too which was perfect. 👍 10/10

Been to see a show and have dinner. What an evening without moving, except one room to the next.

Wondrful Evening. The Service was impeccable and a great House Wine.

I’m going to see more of this place-You can go alone ( and make friends) or be with friends and still enjoy 😉

yourself.

I’m going to add this whole place to my list of “To Goes” More Than Once a month.

The show prices are Fantastic Value and a Great Venue.

Beautiful venue, attentive staff and sublime food very reasonably priced - went with our 10 year old for his birthday and he was made to feel like a king! Highly recommended. Little tip - the drinks are a bit cheaper in the actual restaurant versus the bar.

User

Beautiful venue we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Unfortunately we were unable to finish the evening in the Brasserie as a long wait for a table - but that was our fault for not booking. Didnt realise it would be so busy. It’s worth going just for the setting - stunning. Service excellent at all times

User

All rather splendid if you ask me. You didn’t, but it was all rather splendid regardless of your lack of interest. Food was great, l’ambiance était magnifique aussi, and service was marvellously up-to-scratch as well. Bravo! Only complaint was the paper tablecloths. I mean, come on. Nothing wrong with a spot of Egyptian cotton I say. Although a bugger to iron as I’m discovering with my birthday shirts. Maybe, though, that’s down to our iron which could probably do with a descale truth be told. Anyhow, get yourself down to Brasserie Zédel, you will NOT be disappointed.

User

Absolutely Looooove the decor...Beautiful...You feel Special dining at Zedel. I've been there 3 times and will be attending again very soon. Food is fantastic and price is very reasonable and worth every penny. 3 course meal £13.

A beautiful Art Deco venue. The staff were professional, polite and very well turned out. We did just turn up on a busy late Saturday afternoon and they found us a table but advised us that we would have to leave by a certain time due to other bookings. It was obvious the staff were well trained and the whole place was running smoothly. This was fine by us as we had a show to see. The duck breast with cointreau jus, fresh seasonal vegetables and a lovely potato confit was really flavoursome and plentiful. For dessert we had profiteroles with warm chocolate sauce. They were amazing and again plentiful. We had sparking water and a nice sauvignon to go with our meal. The whole experience was exactly what my sister and I was looking for. Calm, relaxed and classy. Very pleased with the bill. I would prefer to pay what I want with the tipping rather than pay a service charge though. All in all fabulous.

User

Good service, sat at the bar as the wait for a table was an hour - at mid day on a wednesday - food was nice too. What I really liked was the decor of the dining room/bar area, simply superb and very very well put together.

User

The usual mistakes, cocktails served after the starters, everyone wanted to filling you up wines glasses before the cocktails arrive, side dishes forgotten with the main and arrived when you nearly finish eating, and the usual mistake on the bill with an extra bottle of wine. I love that French brasserie ambiance, and the food is ok, nothing wow!

User

Had a table from 6:00-8:30

We were kicked while still eating the last bite of our food. We decided to sit outside to have a drink as we felt we weren’t given time to enjoy our evening. Once out we we’re kicked out again!

The food: the starter is a big no!

The main and dessert was ok

The place is absolutely stunning

User

Been dining hear for years now (at least 4 times a year), but this last visit seemed to be less user friendly, staff not around to serve, had to call people over even in a very quiet lunch time. Food was excellent.

User

Absolutely wonderful Art Deco setting, it really is just like stepping back in time to the period. I would go there just to ogle that. Cocktails in the bar were very good and service in the bar OK. If they had been more attentive we might have had more than just the one cocktail in our half hour wait there for our dinner table. The food offering is very good and our steaks were cooked to perfection and fresh oysters tasted like they were straight from the sea, delicious! Add to that a very reasonable price and you have to ask yourself why the average score. The answer? Service! It was not good. We asked several times for our bottle of red wine with the steaks and it never arrived. I had to send cold frites back to get them to bring hot ones and on the bill an extra main course was billed that we didn’t have. So there we have it a wonderful Art Deco delight, that you really aught to see, is spoiled by bad service. I would be drawn back by the beautiful setting but I must say it is a place that could be so much more than it is.
