Went there for my daughters 19th birthday and we had a great time, there was 6 of us in total but the room was large enough to accomodate all of us and we all chipped in to try and solve the puzzles and escape the room, unfortunately as this was one of the hardest room in london (we did not know it was when we booked it) we did not manage to escape. next time we will try a easier room to start with. the staff was amazing and treated us very well. this was our first ever escape room experience and we loved every moment of it. i would definately go again and i also recomend everyone to go try this experience at least once.
We've now been twice! Firstly for 'Sherlock' and the second for 'The Heist'. The format we managed to escape with almost 30 minutes to spare, and it felt like a fantastic mix of mental, logical and even a couple of little physical puzzles. There were five of us, and we could all find things to do simultaneously, which really helped (for example 3 of us devoted ourselves to one puzzle whilst the other two did something completely different).
Returning a week later to play the Heist, we were expecting a fairly easy ride… But we were in for a surprise. We didn't manage to break out in an hour, having spent far too long trying to work out at least three of the puzzles. However, the entire group enjoyed themselves, and the two newbies professed themselves hooked.
It has to be "Blackwing's Cave" next time…
We've done two rooms so far in this venue, both fantastic even though the level was quite different between the two. The staff is very friendly and they explain everything in detail; they even accommodated us when we wanted to re-arrange the booking.
We took two teams to tackle Sherlock's Despair 1 and 2 as part of a day of team building exercises. Every single member of both teams really enjoyed the experience, and the feedback from everyone was that it had been a "great", "fun" and "excellent" experience. The rooms are beautifully set up with contemporary props, challenging puzzles and atmospheric music. It was suitably ominous and threatening without being frightening, and the variety of puzzles to be solved meant that everyone with different skills, working methods and ways of thinking all had something to offer to the overall solution. There were plenty of red herrings to frustrate even the keenest mind.
None of us had ever tried an escape room before, and we picked the hardest Breakin' has to offer which, in retrospect, may have been a bit of a mistake as neither of our teams were able to complete the escape in the hour allotted, but we were allowed to stay inside and follow more hints until we completed. The staff were really friendly, lively and helpful. When we arrived, we hadn't had any lunch, but we bought sandwiches en route and there is a comfy area of chairs and tables where you can sit to eat, before or during the briefing, which happens before you go into the room. There are lockers in which to put bags, and a place to hang coats. Very well thought out, easy transport wise (less than 5 minutes walk from Highbury and Islington Station), comfortable and with games for everyone from beginners to advanced. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed the Butcher's Lair experience. Challenging but just achievable making it perfect for fun with friends. Thanks
We had a whale of a time. We did Sherlock’s Despair and thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles. Our time ran out as we were completing the last puzzle (soooo frustrating) and our downfall had more to do with not finding things than with actually solving the puzzles!! Highly recommended: We’ll be back.
We had a really great time. Very friendly staff. And since we had not done one of these before, I have to say that the level of assistance was just right. A couple of times we were on the right path but just missing the point. They gave us just enough help without actually telling us how to solve the riddle. Really great place. Great value. Will be back!
We had a great time trying to escape. Staff were really friendly and helped make our experience a perfect one. Thanks again, we will return
We did Butcher's Lair, pretty scary atmosphere and good puzzles.. We got stuck a couple of times! :D
Staff were very happy and able to help with my booking and we all, teenagers and adults, enjoyed the experience on the day. Lots of fun and laughter. Goodness knows how the puzzles and room were thought of but very clever!
Staff were so friendly and helpful - we escaped from the butcher room .
Excellent and great fun - very well organised
Really good, it was pride themed as well so very inclusive of different kinds of people. Went in the heist room, had a great time solving the puzzles
Really good fun and great service. Rooms all really different and the staff are always on hand with hints if needed. Really recommend Breakin' Escape Rooms!
Really enjoyed this - it was hard but we did pick the hardest one as it was available at the time we wanted! We did Sherlock Holmes ... it’s all about thinking outside the box. Would definitely go back.
Me and 5 mates escaped from Davey boys ship.. great laughs good bants on the walkie talkie too for the hints.. will be coming back to conquer space
Last Sunday, my friends and I broke out of "Alpha". I can highly recommend these rooms (a friend did "Sherlock" and spoke very highly of this room as well)!
They look great and seem to be very different, matching the style of the theme very well.
Another point I would like to highlight is the staff. They are all incredibly friendly, funny and helpful. If you want to have a good time, try Breaking Escape Rooms.
We had a blast and I will definitely come back to face "The Butcher".
I’ve done escape rooms before, but never a room with so much attention to detail and atmosphere. Excellent!
First timers to these kind of escape rooms but thoroughly enjoyed this. Decided at New Year to do this as a treat to my son & his friends for his 17th birthday(there ain't much you can do with a few 17 year old boys, to young to drink & to old for the usual party thingies). So this appealed & I can say we didn't regret our choice & will definitely be returning for another challenge on another room.
First time in an escape room! There were three of us and we had tremendous fun and managed to escape with 6 minutes and 50 minutes to spare! The staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional. Can’t wait for the next one!
First time doing an escape room and it was sooo much fun, had the best time. Staff were really friendly and helpful, we chose Butchers lair which we thoroughly enjoyed and recommend. Managed to escape with 39 seconds to spare (wooo) will definitely be back to try another room.
Did the Heist with 6 of us ranging from 13-55. A few squabbles being competitive and learning to listen to each other's ideas. Great fun & sense of achievement when we did it. Approx 50 mins but we should have been quicker! Do it@
Creative rooms with very well set out puzzles. There was a good mix of mental, physical and logic games. Also really liked carrying a sword around!
Black wing cave next , I think!
Came today to do the Flying Dutchman, loved it so much we stayed to do the Heist Plan, escaped both and thoroughly enjoyed them, fantastic hosts as well,we’ll be back to do the rest of them, thankyou!
Brilliant! Although we needed help to escape staff vet accommodating and very helpful, would definitely recommend
Booked the butchers lair and space ship room for our leAving do - both groups had a great time solving the puzzles and clues. Highly recommended
Beautiful Sherlock room. Definitely one of the best, if not, the best we've been to and we've been to many! We'll be back to play all the other games. Thanks! Jenna, Adam and Ben
Another fantastic room. We did the Sherlock one this time. Just love this place. The rooms are well thought out and the clues are excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing! Went there for a birthday celebration and all 6 of us loved the experience! We did the Sherlock's despair which was so immersive and impressive throughout and was the hardest one but was great fun to complete - thanks so much guys :)
Absolutely loved it! The staff was super friendly and helpful, the puzzles were intriguing. All in all a brilliant experience. Would highly recommend
A great place to get together and have some fun! It was my birthday so it was even more fun! We chose the flying Dutchman , really good fun and the best thing was that we all were involved. Highly recommend and we will be back!
A great experience for our first escape room. With a group of six we managed to escape Sherlock’s despair with a few minutes to spare. The staff briefing and the room set up was really great and set the atmosphere very well, including all the details of the furniture, props and music. The puzzles were all different and equally exciting and everyone could contribute to them regardless of age or experience. It has been great fun and we’d all love to come back and try the rest of the rooms!
We went as a family of four and had a great time.....all members of staff we met were lovely and the room itself was brilliantly laid out and, although we weren’t very good in our opinion , we had so much fun
This was a fun experience! I went with a group for my brothers birthday and we had loads of fun! Having never done an escape room before, we were a little nervous seeing as we had chosen one of the harder rooms (we like a challenge!) but the team were really accommodating, gave us a good prep talk before and we were given hints in the room at times when we needed them. It was great fun! The only part I was disappointed in was that one of our group members woke up with a stomach bug and couldn't make it (our game was an early one for 11:50am) but we were refused a refund. I paid £150 all together and seeing as it didn't make any difference to the set up of the room and didn't require any admin changes (it actually made no difference if that member of the group was there or not) I don't think there is any reason to have been denied the refund for one person. We travelled over an hour from outside of London to get there as well. The refund Policy needs to be changed on that for sure and/or they should allow room for discretion. Please consider!
The Butcher’s Lair was brilliant fun! This was my first escape room and I would definitely do more after this. Lots of moments that made me jump, clever puzzles and the option to get hints if you’re stuck. Really great fun and a good way to spend a day with friends.
Really fun room (alpha horizon)- difficult enough to be challenging but not impossible and the staff set the scene well. Great atmosphere throughout the place and fun dress-up photo op after the escape
Enjoyed this today - we did the Star Wars-esque room and it was pretty tough but good fun. Nice to have your mental faculties tested!
This was the second escape that we (a group of 6) experienced both very good and loads of fun. This one was slightly better than the last due to it being linear which suited our group. We had loads of hints as we were in the hardest of rooms , and my only criticism was the lighting which went perfectly with the room but made it very difficult to read some of the clues. It is very good value for money and staff were lovely and helpful
I've never done one before but many of our party have and weren't over Impressed
Was very excited to experience Breakin but unfortunately, the room wasn't set properly so the second part of the challenge was open before we even started. The drop-down suitcase didn't came down when it should have and so we had to be prompted to 'pull it', and we were given clues throughout despite not asking for them (we finished in 33 minutes). Bit of a disappointment for £27 each!
