About Breast Cancer International

Breast Cancer is a global problem accounting for 12. 5% of all deaths worldwide, a greater percentage than is caused by HIV /AIDS, TB and malaria combined. By 2020 there are expected to be 15 million new cases of cancer every year, 70% of which will be in developing countries, where governments are least prepared to address the growing cancer burden and where survival rates are often less than half those of more developed countries. Women who live in the developed countries have a significantly better chance of survival than women in less developed countries. Obviously appropriate and timely basic treatment, let alone the best treatment available, is dictated by national priorities and resources. Breast Cancer International is a Global charity based in the UK set up to help women gain medical treatment for breast cancer wherever there is a need.
