Great day ride which included a stop at the Exmoor Forest Inn, Simonsbath.
We had a fantastic morning out on Faith and Fudge. Charlie took us out for a glorious ride over Exmoor and was great company as well as showing us the beautiful scenery and giving us a mini riding lesson. Thank you so much - we’ll be back! Highly recommended. Julia & Sarah. X
Took a sheltered hack in woodland due to rain on moors. Scenery spectacular, dramatic geology, peaceful. Best Trekking we have been on. Ponies and horses fit, happy and individually minded Great staff. Charlie and Chris very accommodating and care about your experience. Will be back with extra family members next time.
Such a brilliant place. My partner is a total novice, I’m more experienced, but we enjoyed a 1.5 hour hack that was perfect for both of us. The owners and staff are lovely and you know you’re in safe hands from the start. As for the ponies, not only are they loved like members of one big family but they all know their jobs and obviously enjoy it too. Absolutely can’t fault it and would very happily go again tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after that. In fact, I may move here just so I can....! Thank you Sophie, Sian, Bouncer and Faith. You’re all awesome x ���
If you're in the area and are considering a ride, don't hesitate to contact Charlie & Chris. They run an amazing yard with awesome horses and were so accommodating, friendly and kind... Charlie took my daughter out twice on Rom and had 2 perfect hacks over the moors, both times at reasonably (ok, very!) short notice.
Great value, safe and a fantastic experience for riders of all levels; Charlie, Chris... thank you. Please keep doing what you're doing and we will be back.
I had a nasty experience and was flipping scared to say the least about getting back in the saddle. Charlie was sympathetic and let me do what I was comfortable with. We cantered across Exmoor, on several occasions ... need I say anymore? Wonderful, in every aspect � thank you from the bottom of my heart xx
I decided to go for a horse trek for my birthday with Brendon Manor Stables. There are a lot of options for treks and booking it was very easy. Just make sure you look at their new website (in the Info section) as googling them brings up an old site.
On arrival I met Chris and Charlie and had the option of trekking through woodland and along quiet roads, or over the moors. The ride was very good and Fudge was a pleasure to ride. I hope to see you again when I'm next in the area!
Having never been on or near a horse in our lives we were well instructed and looked after by Charlotte, Chris and the team. Thanks for making us so welcome and thanks for a great Saturday morning trek across the moors. We will definitely be back next year.
Have had the most wonderful week riding. The weather has been amazing and so were the horses, every ride was just perfect and Charlie an perfect host. 7 wks and will be back for another week. Thanks guys

Had a fantastic hack across Exmoor with Charlie. Scenery was amazing, great to come across and get close to some of the Exmoor ponies. Fab trek with great company.
Had a fantastic early morning ride out across the moors beautiful views, great gallop on a pocket rocket called Star, that made me feel like a teenager! Thank you so much, great feel good therapy ever :)
Group of 6 with mixed riding abilities had a lovely 1hr hack around the moors and we loved it! The horses were superbly behaved �
Charlotte, Chris and staff were very welcoming and talkative which really boosted our experience, I am sure we will be returning for future rides! �
Friendly & welcoming staff, great ride on Faith across beautiful countryside. Loved crossing the streams in little hidden-away valleys. Very relaxing ride at our own pace for an hour and a half...enjoyed the canters in between easy trots and good walking. Ace!
First time on a horse for me and, to be honest, soooooo nervous. Made to feel really welcomed and had an awesome time in very capable hands. Charlotte, Hazel and Chris were all amazing and a real pleasure to visit and ride with.
Got the obligatory "Dad, can we get a pony" from my 9yr old with 30 secs of dismounting! Happy days :-D

Fab 2 hour ride on the moors today on a lovely piebald cob called June. The weather was fab, the scenery was breathtaking, the company excellent, riding centre staff were very chatty and friendly and informative about the area. I was a little nervous as have hacked out before but not for a few years, but was soon reassured that we would only go at a pace I felt comfortable with. Picked up lots of riding tips from our instructor I can take back to my riding lessons at home. Had a wonderful time. Would recommend to anybody no matter what their ability.
Charlie took us out for a trek through Watersmeet on Sunday morning, in pouring rain. It was amazing. Fabulous scenery, beautiful, peaceful and dramatic all at the same time, and apparently this was the rubbish ride! These are really good stables. The horses are happy and well cared-for and Charlie is a friendly, reliable, thoughtful and responsible host. Thank you Charlie for a really enjoyable ride. Would love to come back for a ride out on the moor. So see you in the summer! Tina Frow
Charlie (1 and 2!) gave us such a blast on the moors! Sooooo much fun! We are six crazy ladies aged from 18-59 and finished our 3hr ride with smiles all round ( and maybe a couple with sore bottoms!). Cannot rate my super pony Lydia enough! Very safe little horse with a big heart. We had some fabulous long (and fast!) canters but also very happy to relax and take in the beautiful scenery from the back too! Thank you Charlie! (I'm sure there will be more photos in due course!)
As a teenager I spent many summers working at Brendon (1987 to 1991) as a groom and hadn't visited since my last summer in 1991 until I finally got myself out for a hack last Sunday with a friend. What a fantastic morning, it didn't matter that the weather was rubbish it was lovely to see the ponies looking so happy and to re-visit the place I spent many happy hours escorting rides so long ago. the new owners are so friendly and have a great attitude and want riders to enjoy themselves but they also care about the horses and make sure they are happy and well cared for. I can highly recommend Brendon for experienced riders or total beginners as the owners take the time to learn a bit about you before selecting your ride for the day! I will be back soon!
An amazing expanse of wild ponies, wide vistas, and intimate valleys with clear running rivers. If you have any interest in magical settings and want to have a lifelong memory go to Brendon Manor!
