Brentwood railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of England, serving the town of Brentwood, Essex. It is approximately 18 miles north-east of London Liverpool Street and is situated between Harold Wood and Shenfield. Its three-letter station code is BRE.
The station was opened in 1840 by the Eastern Counties Railway. It is currently managed by TfL Rail. The vast majority of services call at Brentwood as part of the Liverpool Street-Shenfield stopping \"metro\" service but Abellio Greater Anglia services for Southend Victoria call on Sundays. From 2018, the station will be fully served by Crossrail, linking it to additional stations in central London, as well as Reading and London Heathrow Airport. TfL Rail, the precursor of Crossrail, took over the running of the Shenfield \"metro\" in May 2015.
