Look at the difference between the 2 vids! 1st one is from our 1st session together and the 2nd is from today. Not only has Richard improved his boxing skill set hes also 20 lbs heavier in the 2nd vid. Awesome job of coming so far despite outside factors keeping him from consistently training . Well done richard! 🙌

This time last year I hit my PB of 200kg on the deadlift, need to get back into these its been a while!
The deadlift is one the best compound lifts you can use. It recruits more muscle groups then any other exercise and is great for building the posterior chain. It can also help prevent injury by strengthening these muscle groups. Just be sure to focus on technique when starting and not to go too heavy until you've got the technique down and are confident with the lift. (My ...technique was far from perfect here as the bar pulled away from me at the start of the lift, but after finding my 1rm I went back to lighter sets and keeping control throughout the lift)

Working a new combo with Murray

Me and @jafgrant after some solid boxing sparring rounds. Felt good to get some proper rounds under my belt after what must of been about a year. If you want to learn to box nothing is gonna teach you like sparring. You can do any amount of padwork and drills but when you're in there with someone who's moving and punching back the whole dynamic changes. Also its the only way to better your timing and distance management. 2 things which are crucial yet overlooked by many

Mark starting to make some noticable changes, starting to lose some body fat even with the main focus being to get stronger and build muscle. Most notable was the bench press, hadn't done more than 80kg before and managed to build up to an impressive 130kg

Murray on the thai pads a little while back, nice flow going on after regular sessions. Both trying to learn and better ourselves with holding and hitting the thai pads

Awesome work by Murray who’s been working super hard 3 x a week with me and also 2-3 x a week himself. Very noticeable changes to his physique in just 4 weeks! Again excited to see where we are by week 12. As well as doing this working with Murray has helped me improve my Thai pad holding skills greatly and occasionally he’d take me on the pads for a round of 2. Toning A lot of times clients will say they want to tone up when asked what their goals are. Many think that light weight and high repetition will get them the look they’re after but In reality there is no such thing as muscle toning. The toned look is just losing body fat to reveal the muscle definition underneath, gaining muscle then losing the fat is what will give you that toned look. How to get toned? 1. Build muscle - to have the toned look you need to have the muscl...e in the 1st place. Muscle can be gained by using resistance training with enough intensity to cause adaptation. Don’t just go through the motions it needs to be challenging! Girls don’t worry about getting too bulky, it really isn’t that easy to gain a lot of lean muscle mass especially for females due to the difference in hormones. 2. Lose body fat - this will reveal the muscle underneath that gives you that tight toned look. To lose the body fat you will need to be in a calorie deficit whilst training and consuming enough protein to help retain the muscle. 3. That’s it, just keep consistent with your training and diet and you can achieve that toned look
