Popped in after work on the off chance we could get a table. We did! Straight away! Really quickly got our meals after we ordered. Polite staff. Great burgers, really hot. Fabulous!

User

OK the food here is not 5 star but it's cheap and the staff are great. Especially Alex who works being the bar ’┐Į

My partner, two children and I visited after school for dinner. Kids were happy with the choices on kids menu and for two courses for ┬Ż4.99 so we're we! They also loved the play area and small amusement area. I had the chicken and rib combo which was just amazingly yummy and well priced. My partner being a steak lover had the 14oz rib eye although he prefers rare steak they informed me due to the cut they recommend medium to ensure the middle is warmed through, the very helpful waitress went through to the kitchen and explained this to the chef who done an outstanding job of keeping his steak as rare as possible. The steak came out beautifully and was seasoned to perfection. We will most definitely be returning.

Compliments to all the staff but especially to chef David Celle!

Very lovely food and desserts

And we eat here quite a lot as they are very welcome

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door for 1 nt and had dinner there, 2nd stay and dinner in 2 years. It's a Brewers Fayre so don't expect wonders, but caters for families on a budget. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, not even blinking when a rude woman demanded mustard be brought to her table without a please and thank you as wasn't there and waiting at the carvery! Carvery was good, and serving lady super friendly, batter a bit soggy on fish and chips meal chips a little overcooked, but quite edible. Both an indoor and outdoor play area to amuse kids even though mine a little too old at 8 and 10, but play areas and meal kept them quiet even with my eldest being a child with behavioural problems no one would have noticed as they were happy and relaxed. Outside upper seating area needs a bit of updating, but ok. Ideal family venue for those wanting a basic meal and reasonable priced drinks! I will visit again!

User

Have been here before and was not inprest , but had been told it had changed hands and was better and I must say yes yesterday my daughter and I had a carvery and it was lovely

We visited the windmill for lunch bargain two lunches for 8-99 and was very pleasant we had grandkids with us so wanted to be near the play area we was unable as there was a really bad smell and no air, after we had eaten we was looking at the vinegar pots and to my shock there was dead flies in the bottle we checked other bottles and yep dead flies we informed the manager so we was issued with a refund so check your vinegar

User

Was quite busy so waited quite a bit for our starters but main came quite quick after we had finished. Food was amazing and I liked the sweet potato and feta lasagne.

User

To start with this is a long entry but worth the full read.

We arrived on sat night to eat with my friend and her grandparents. Grandad in a wheelchair, Nan with a stick who struggles to walk, my friend in a walking boot due to broken foot and myself with fibromyalgia.

Having parked the car and pushed the wheelchair to the door we discover the lift is out of action. There are also around 10 stairs up to the restaurant. We were wondering what to do when a leaving customer tells us that we can walk round the outside of the building to another door.

This path is dark, wet and slippery and winds round the building up a slope. I had a struggleto push the wheelchair while keeping an eye on 2 people struggling to walk as well.

When we get to the door it's actually at the back of the restaurant and there is a small door frame to get up over with the chair. Things didn't look too bad as we could see a few tables free from where we stood.

My friend went to talk to the front desk only to be told there were no tables.

When I went round I was told it would be 1 hr to 1 hr30 mins for a table and we could stand by the bar and wait with drinks.

At this point I'd had enough. I pointed out to the manager that we were all disabled in some way. We'd struggled to get in the building as it was and that was only because were were told of the door. Their sign by the lift said nothing of another entrance. And there was no way we could stand for that long waiting. Also there were plenty of empty tables. I was told they were all reserved. (The empty tables didn't add up with the no of bookings he had in front of him) Having pointed out to him that he was already breaking the disability laws by not providing clear signs to a usable entrance and then not ensuring we could be seated while waiting. I was fuming and our grandparents were so uncomfortable they wanted to go.

In the end the manager found us a table straight away, got us drinks and made sure we had a waiter who would take all our requests so we didn't have to keep getting up and down to the bar.

The meal itself was lovely. 2 chicken with cheese and bbq sauce. 1 tomato penne pasta and 1 lamb shank. The lamb shank could have had more gravy and the gravy could have been more minty. I couldn't really taste any mint.

The puddings were a little pricey but very nice.

We thought we were doing well until I came to pay the bill.

The staff had put our main meals on a different table! We had our puddings with the main meals of the table next to us. That was another saga to get it refunded and get the correct food on the correct bill.

My advice......check your bill before paying for it.

If you need the lift call in advance and ask if it's working. We have been told it's been out of action since Nov!!!!!! It's part of Premier Inn so they cant do anything about it except report it to them.

There is plenty of space for the restaurant to have a stair lift for their own customers.

User

The food wasn't that great. The chicken burger was not that great and the coselaw didn't really taste like coselaw. The pudding was the best. How ever we should of got if for ┬Ż1.99 But as the queue was long and didn't get to the till till 6:10 Was told we had to pay full price

User

Portions a bit small, food was tastie, service was quite quick (guess a lot of it was pre cooked), but need more staff behind the bar to take the orders/pay. Its a shame you can not order from table

User

Went for breakfast with Santa with our grandson . Santa and his helper superb , food appalling luke warm no scrambled eggs ran out of bacon at 930 in morning!!! Staff not dressed for Xmas . Very disappointed

User

The food is ok, not to bad for the money you pay and service is not bad neither.

But the toilets are vile ’┐Į the menŌĆÖs was blocked and had feces on it , my child couldnŌĆÖt even use them - the womenŌĆÖs were just as bad , awful smell , pipes are rotten and rusty , I had to clean the toilet before using them and I estimate the toilet brush is properly 10 years old itŌĆÖs literally mouldy ’┐Į

User

Staff were not attentive, the "manager" I use the term loosely was not in the least bit professional or useful! Standing at the bar the stench of urine coming from the gents was overwhelming when I mentioned it to the barman he was very matter of fact saying yes it does but it's not me ha ha ha! Not oh I'll go and tell the manager. The servery where the roast is served from had a layer of dust where I wrote please clean Me! My new menu black and blue burger looked nothing like the menu when I questioned the manager he said oh doesn't it look like the menu? I was offered a fresh dinner I said yes he came back with the same dinner with a small bit of blue cheese melted on the top burger same burger I know as I'd taken the tomato out of mine and it was still the same! granted fresh fries were put on but not a fresh burger! Plonked on the table by the said manager he said there you go a fresh meal! At no point did he or anyone else come to check back SERVICE WAS DISGRACEFUL! At the least I would have expected the manager to come back and make sure we were ok not even after puddings did he! After managing pubs and restaurants for over 20 years I would most definitely not have acted like that! Safe to say I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone!

User

Shame that when I asked if my daughter could have a little more gravy for her dinner, staff were polite but were then overheard by family members moaning about the fact I had asked for more gravy! Bad customer service. Won't use them again now.

User

Ordered fish and chips with mushy peas. Fish was burnt and mushy peas were crispy as they had been microwaved

User

Noticed that all prices have gone up. Long wait for bad quality food, this places used to be terrible then it got much much better now since I last visited six months ago it's terrible again. Enjoy ’┐Į

User

Came for a family meal starter didnŌĆÖt come out for 45 mins when other family members had started there mains?? Staff were friendly kids play area was good food OK

24th October decided to try again

Starter of Brie dips over cooked same with garlic mushrooms that didnŌĆÖt taste of anything

Overall very disappointing will not be going again

User

Was rubbish, food came out in poor order, pate on toast- no butter brought out with it, my steak was rubbish, the floor was filthy, bacon left in the floor from breakfast and fag butts, wonŌĆÖt go there again.....ever

User

Terrible place. Terrible service. Starters came in 10 mins.. Not bad. Mains came 45 mins after starters. Cold, bland, cheap shit. Service was crap. I only ate here as I was staying in the adjoining premier inn. To be honest I would of preferred rooting through the bins for my food. 16 quid for a tasteless, tough rib eye steak. Chips like rocks. A red bowl of water that was painted to look like a tomato.

Now how's about the atmosphere.....morgue springs to mind.

How you get away with this shit day in day out is beyond me. Sort it out you useless excuse for a restaurant.

Terrible dry food obviously left out from the day before avoid at all costs what a waste of money I think the manager should read and take note of these reviews, it's not left to be flippant it's genuine an absolutely terrible meal never ever again .

Cold food which when returned was spoiled by someone adulterating the sausages with spices, sugar or sweetener in the scrambled egg, uncooked tomatoes and no staff if we did want to poison ourselves with extra portions of their poor quality breakfast.

User

Worst carvery IŌĆÖve ever had, sorry guys but the beef was so over cooked it was inedible and the veg was just really depressing. IŌĆÖm not a fussy eater at all, but this was dire. Staff are fab though!

User

We went for the curry night food was cold

24th October decided to try again

Starter of Brie dips over cooked same with garlic mushrooms that didnŌĆÖt taste of anything

Main meal I had the steak asked for it to be medium was as dry as could be tasted like it had been reheated

Dad has the steak and stout pie expected to get a pie but instead got a pot of slop and Chris know what was on top feared he would break his teeth

Overall very disappointing will not be going again

User

Was rubbish, food came out in poor order, pate on toast- no butter brought out with it, my steak was rubbish, the floor was filthy, bacon left in the floor from breakfast and fag butts, wonŌĆÖt go there again.....ever

Visited yesterday for lunch and the tables were very sticky the food took 35 minutes to be served and then it was over cooked and the burgers were tuff and nasty the chips where dry never again am I coming here just a shame as they normally are really good

User

This was our first time here, the soft play was the attraction for us so that our kids could keep busy and we could relax for 5mins. The food was by far the worst IŌĆÖve ever tasted. The new Manager is an utter tool who has no customer services skills at all. Actually moaned at clients for eating the food too quickly. How about assessing how many people you have in and preparing enough??!!

User

Terrible dry food obviously left out from the day before avoid at all costs what a waste of money I think the manager should read and take note of these reviews, it's not left to be flippant it's genuine an absolutely terrible meal never ever again .

User

Staff need a lesson in customer service, had to wait 25mins for a pint! Food was bland and overlooked. The only good thing was the play area for the kids!

User

Slow and very average food

User

Really disappointed. Our first time here and I have to say I hated everything about it. The food was awful. So bad I couldn't eat it. It tasted like instant mash potato and reheated in the microwave. The drinks tasted like they had been watered down. The walls were still covered in sauce from previous diners. I can honestly say it was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life.

User

Our first time coming here and we hated it ! The food was disgusting the burgers tasted like they were cooked in the microwave , the coleslaw had no taste and the drinks tasted like water. We had one bite of the food and then left . Dissapointing.

User

Food is horrible soup is like powder!

Food isnŌĆÖt great at all..

WouldnŌĆÖt recommend at all.

User

Cold food which when returned was spoiled by someone adulterating the sausages with spices, sugar or sweetener in the scrambled egg, uncooked tomatoes and no staff if we did want to poison ourselves with extra portions of their poor quality breakfast.

Food Standards Agency and Head Office informed before posting, and we are trying hard not to vomit it all back up.

User

Popped in after work on the off chance we could get a table. We did! Straight away! Really quickly got our meals after we ordered. Polite staff. Great burgers, really hot. Fabulous!

User

OK the food here is not 5 star but it's cheap and the staff are great. Especially Alex who works being the bar ’┐Į

User

User

Lovely lunch, one of our daughters brought a leisure voucher for my husband for Father's Day.. Had a lovely 3 coarse lunch.

User

User

User

Food was really good, but the staff were the stars of the show! I hope they werenŌĆÖt just temps for Christmas! So friendly. Will definitely be going back

User

Brewers fayre windmill

The stuff are very welcome in

Very polite

Very understanding

Very lovely food and desserts

And we eat here quite a lot as they are very welcome

User

User

Food was pretty good, chips and the Steak needs improvement, nice atmosphere, would visit again...

User

Food was nice and hot

And staff friendly and helpful

Prices are good to

User

We visited the windmill for lunch bargain two lunches for 8-99 and was very pleasant we had grandkids with us so wanted to be near the play area we was unable as there was a really bad smell and no air, after we had eaten we was looking at the vinegar pots and to my shock there was dead flies in the bottle we checked other bottles and yep dead flies we informed the manager so we was issued with a refund so check your vinegar

User

Was quite busy so waited quite a bit for our starters but main came quite quick after we had finished. Food was amazing and I liked the sweet potato and feta lasagne.
