Went here last night..food was fantastic ,the service was fantastic very polite and welcoming pub..would definatley visit again .

User

Visited 18/04/18. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast menu and the extensive range of food and drink available. The two members of staff (a man behind the counter and a lady waitress) that dealt with our orders were friendly and very helpful. Lovely cooked food.

User

Very much improved service and meal quality. The place has been painted and looks much better. Been there twice this holiday and have found it to be much better than its been for years. I remember it around 15 years ago and it was brilliant but went downhill. Lets hope that the improvements continue and build it back up to what it used to be.

User

Really enjoyed our food was told there was a 40 minutes wait arrived in about 10 minuets

My dad who is 90 years young, took my mom out for a sly lunch time beer, a pint of Doom Bar. They love to sit outside in the sunshine. He doesn't see so well anymore and after he ordered their drinks couldn't see to take them outside he asked the barman for help. The barman, whose name I didn't get was pleased to carry the drinks while getting dad hold his elbow and deliver him the drinks back to my mom enjoying the afternoon sun. Customer service going the extra mile. I live in Australia and it is fantastic to hear about people being nice to my folks. A huge thank you to the mystery barman. THANK YOU.

Came to Goodrington for a week and have visited 3 times! Lovely food and helpful staff

User

Always go here for meals, good food, service quick and reasonable price, and near sea what more do you need 👌

User

We visited Inn on the Quay on my husband's birthday. We were a party of 10 which included two children. Couldn't fault it from start to finish. The staff were very friendly. Most of us had the buffet curry. 5 to choose from - lovely and hot, plenty of add ons - poppadoms etc. Extra food was still coming out at nearly 8pm. We had brought a cake with us and the waitress supplied us with forks, spoons, plates and napkins. Main menu food was good too. Very fast service. Felt very welcome. Would definitely return.

User

Was a very friendly and generous restaurant with lovely staff and sea views. Would recommend to others.

User

Lovely situated over the sea nice food very pleasant staff

User

Had breakfast here on Tuesday 31/11/17.

Served by a very polite young man. The food on offer was extensive , two different types of breakfast. All you can eat and drink.

We helped ourselves to cereal and drinks , fruit and toast and the young waiter took our cooked order. When it came , it was piping hot and beautifully cooked. The manager would not clear anything away from the self service area until he has ascertained that we didn’t want anything else.

We will be going there again.

Well done.

User

Had a great weekend with good friends, a couple of drinks and lunch sat outside, burger for me, it was massive and massively tasty had to leave some chips as was stuffed.

User

Was fairly quiet yesterday lunch when we went in. Starters came out fairly quick then we waited ages for main meals, others that had ordered after us were getting their food before us so had to ask for it.

User

Had the Fish and chips very good but skin on the fish not good,Doom Bar on draught very good price not bad 2meals £8/99 top value better than Weatherspoons. Will be back soon.better now car free.

User

Had a nice meal with my sister, the staff were lovely until the head chef saw me, who has got a problem with me, but I wasn’t aware that he worked there and was made very uncomfortable by him and the bar staff as he had obviously told them about me as they continue to stare at me duration of r vist had I knew he worked there I wouldn’t of gone there

User

One meal cold after waiting an hour. Peppercorn sauce arrived 25 minutes after steak (very mediocre) arrived. Waiter was not particularly interested. Won't go again.

User

Lots of dog walkers around but they do not allow dogs in the pub apart from in one of the entrances which was very tatty ,why don't they allow dogs in one end of the pub as it's big enough ,even if just in the winter ? We had a burger which was ok but couldn't see any cheese, the chips were awful , afew hours old I'm sure !! Shouldn't think many locals would eat there so trade must be very low out of season , allow an area for dog walkers and improve the food and they could have a nice little trade during the winter !

User

Had a meal on Friday evening. The food was over priced it was underwhelming and under cooked. Would not recommend.

User

Guinness was very frothy at first but went flat after 10 minutes . Doombar beer was awful , tasted vinegary. Food was terrible , got 2 full refunds on the steak dinners which were served virtually raw inside .

Breakfast buffet not ready till 8am although breakfast bar opened at 7am.

User

Came here on the 4/8/17 food wasn't very nice chips went cooked properly.Steak was discussing.Kids meals weren't the best either looked like the beans had been cooked ova and ova again. My 5 kids were playing in the soft play where two older girls were swearing at my children and also hitting them. Can tell you now won't be a place where I will be going again.

User

What a shame that after a lovely day at the beach we were unable to have anything to eat as we were told the kitchen had closed with no further explanation. This was at 7pm on one of the sunniest days we have had, how much business must you have lost out on? We then had to search for somewhere local with two very hungry young children and that was dog friendly. What a shame!

User

Went on 17th March would never go again cold plates and NO time allowed between courses

User

Went for the Chefs Counter Fish and Chip night on the Friday night definitely would not visit again or recommend it too anyone food was either cold or overcooked with the batter being overdone on the fish bites. Definitely not worth £7.99.

User

Waited over a hour and 10 mins for food, we was told it would be 40 mins, then we ordered deserts and that was 40 mins. Food Was not up to scratch wouldn't eat at that place again. Also cost me £56 for it

User

Waited far too long for food, not a particularly busy evening. They managed to screw up food orders with a neighbouring table, who were also miffed at the blunder. Manager was far too jovial at the mistake, as though it should have been treated as a joke. After a second nudge to get their arses into gear we finally got some food albeit, a good twenty minute wait until the whole order had been served. Food quality, not great, service poor and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Take my advise, eat somewhere else

User

Used to love going here, but this time was a let down, my daughter’s food was not cooked properly, partners burger was warm, i had pie but wasnt a pie, just meat, gravy an a dumpling! Asked for sauce an mayo for my son, it never came, asked 2 people. Really felt let down this time, what’s happened to you. Hooefully when we go back, the service is better an food hot, even though my family dont wanna go back, but i love the place, so hopefully can talk them around. Need more staff on the bar, you waste more time queuing for your drinks and to order.

User

They got my order wrong twice and my son didn’t like the mash. My meal wasn’t filling at all. Will never go there again. Will stick to Wetherspoons as I have the same meal there and it’s always filling and cheaper!!

User

Stood in a que for what felt like a life time, to then be told we're in the wrong que, and the stuck up waitress was like tought go line up in another poorly identifiable que which was supposedly a food que, food was like leather, I would recommend Waterside up the road next time

User

Staff not friendly or efficient..... didn't bother serving drinks in correct glasses, not interested in pleasing the customer. Impolite, surly. Lots walking around but not serving, more interested in talking to their friends at the bar.

User

Shocking service. Over an hour wait for luke warm average food, various items of food missing and the staff were surly, rude and unhelpful. Would give 0 stars if possible....

Came here for dinner with my mom and Uncle visiting from Canada. My uncle originally wanted fish and chips and was told when ordering they had no fish left at all - no one informed us of this on our arrival and my uncle was very disappointed. I ordered a “mocktail” which I thought (looking at the menu) would be made with fruit juice and lemonade but was made with about 90% grenadine style fruit syrup, some mint leaves and lemonade This took about 10 minutes for the guy behind the bar to make! With no one else ahead or behind us waiting on drinks... I took one sip and took it back as it tasted like pure sugar syrup and was completely undrinkable! Went to try and get fruit juice mixed with lemonade instead but was told they were just following the drinks book and that they could give me it again or a different drink. The guy did apologise and I got a different drink instead... over 40 minutes went by and we still had no food - some people who had come in after us seemed to be getting food before us and various others had been waiting the same time or longer than us. Dirty plates from previous customers lingered on various tables also and empty glasses on tables everywhere.. My mom went up after about an hours wait to find out what was going on with our food and said we’ve been waiting an hour which was met with a rude response from another member of staff whose reply was “yeah the wait is an hour” giving no apology whatsoever nor where we told there was any long wait when we first arrived. My mom asked him to go to the kitchen and properly find out what was going on and he was very reluctant to do so. Finally after about 1 hour 20 minutes waiting our food came. My “smoky paprika chicken” was not spicy at all and tasted luke warm and rubbery. The chips and salad were good but a shame they were also luke warm. I asked for sauce when the food was served which never arrived so I had to go up and get some. My mother and uncle’s meals were average also.

Living locally we’ve come here several times

before and never had a bad experience or slow service. Unfortunately our experience this evening of rude unhelpful staff and lack of information and promptness with food has soured our view of the restaurant and I’m doubtful we will ever return.

User

Shocking customer service from the manager who was so abrupt and rude she we asked if they had a bowl for water for our dog whilst we were having drinks in the garden area . Said his staff didn't have time to get bowls even though we only asked if they're was any around.

User

Not even worth one star avoid at all costs we went for family meal on way home from a short break in Devon. Ordered food at 17.42 and at 18.23 the two kids meals arrived 18.30 no sign of two main meals so when inquired about it turned out the kitchen had voided the two meals . Was offered the meals to be cooked but evening was ruined so was given a full refund and then took kids to scoffs in paignton for food.

User

My wife and I decided to go to the Inn on the Quay tonight as it was a special occasion. We only ordered desserts as we had eaten at home and fancied a drive out with our three children.

When we arrived there we noticed it was very quiet we put this down to the weather. We ordered ice creams for our children and desserts for us. We waited and waited and had to go to the bar and speak to the member of staff and ask why is it taking so long.

We weren't give a explanation and was told won't be long. It was now 40minutes since we ordered and still nothing I returned to the bar I gave my table number.

The member of bar staff went off to the kitchen then came back asked if I have the itemized receipt which we weren't given. My wife had to the order again this time to a member of management. He said they had lost the order in the kitchen and made a half effort attempt to apologize.

By this time our two boys were getting fed up and kept asking for their icecreams. After been told by this member of management that he would get straight on it we waited a further 15 minutes and still nothing. We then asked for a refund as we told them we had enough of waiting to be told they desserts were on the way out.

The order came out again no real effort from management to apologize. We did receive a full refund for the wait but I'm afraid we won't be going there again. There is clearly something seriously wrong if they can't manage an order when very quiet god knows how they will do when busy.

User

It was fuckin shut.... drive half way around the universe to have a pint in our favourite sea side pub and it was shut!!!!

User

For the 3rd time now my family have been turned away from the Buffet because they have stopped topping it up at 6:50 when it runs until 8pm we arrive earlier and earlier absolutely disgusting customer service the first time they actually charged us and then refunded as we got one plate and then told that was the last to be served.

User

Extremely disappointed!

Went to the inn on the quay hoping for a lovely family lunch. Left being sick and having some pains all evening! We were told half an hour wait which turned into about 50 mins of waiting, the waitress then said it’s just being plated up and was another 15mins after that even though half our table had finished their food. I ate half a chicken burger then had to go to the disabled toilet to be sick, with stomach cramps all evening with two other people from our table having stomach pains all evening. We were told a manger was going to come over and speak to us...this never happened! Unfortunately I couldn’t speak to any staff at the time as I was in the toilets being sick but my husband was told by a member of staff we would get a phone call or email later that day to resolve the problems and we are still yet to hear, even after I have called this morning to see what is happening. Will never come here again! Mangers really let the place down!

User

Chefs corner was good but the toilets was disgusting and need a complete refresh bad smell human Faeces and no toilet roll shame as its was my first time hear and will be my last

User

User

THANK YOU.

User

Lovely meal has usually can't fault it, staff are very friendly too, we go very often because we live here,

User

Had a lovely meal here with my gradson's and Paula and kids the another day

User

Well done.
