We went to Brewers Fayre Penhale round last friday for a family meal, we couldn't be any happier, Stunning food and very good value for money, this place has never disappointed us every time we go, as for the staff that work there, they are excellent, so friendly. They always have a smile on their faces, there is one lady that works there, that served us our chocolate pudding, we didn't catch her name, she really made us feel relaxed and had a laugh with her, thank you everyone

Just visiting the area. Popped in and although very busy staff managed to find us a table. Staff were friendly, food was good. Such an enjoyable experience we returned a couple of days later before heading home from our holiday

A prebooked Christmas Day lunch for four. Friendly, polite and welcoming staff. A three course meal plus coffee. The main course consisting of either a vegetarian choice or traditional roast with in both cases, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and sources self-served from the Carvery. The food was excellent value and couldn't be faulted. The restaurant was busy all the time we were there but the staff managed to keep everything ticking over so that no one experienced any delay.

All in all a good experience.

We visited for the first time and i have to say we had a new yorker burger with bacon. Didnt see no sign of the bacon but burger was nice but think for what you got it was over priced and the chips look like they were on the third round. But it was ok dont think we will go again though.

We visited at lunchtime on Saturday....not too busy....good hot meals garlic chicken for me which was too large for me i couldnt eat it all...nice and hot, even the fried egg was piping hot! ...good service with a smile! The bench seats need scrubbing or replacing but everything else is fine!

The food was nice before the refurbishment. Now it is really good. Order was Medium Rare rib eye, beer battered prawns, seasonal veg, sweet potato fries, onion rings and blue cheese sauce.

Being shown to the table and getting a bottle of cold tap water was idea on a warm evening. Very polite staff and very helpful.

If steak is on the menu I use it as a guide to the rest of the menu. It wasn't medium rare, but never expected it to be. But it was Medium and in parts medium to well. However, it was seasoned well and did not disappoint on flavour.

The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy, and the prawns were not overcooked or rubberery.

I would have the steak again but I now want to work my way through the menu. Not in one sitting though.

Great work, keep it up

Stayed in premier inn next door, had a lovely meal of chicken and ribs, with a nice bottle of Zinny. Service was good, food tasted good. We had breakfast which was very nice and the service was very friendly and helpful, best Brewers fare I been too Xx

User

Staff was friendly but needed more of them on ...food was great apart from the prosecco cheesecake that was advertised but didn't have the sauce to go on it as can't get off the suppliers....menu needed to reflect this...apart from these 2 niggles enjoyed the meal .

User

Nornally spot on, but please feed back to landlord that someone messed up on the ordering. At 7pm you ran out of the following, tonic to go with gin, pino in white, doom bar, tetleys, guest ale at 8pm, blue cheese for black and blue burger. At our table we were all shocked, as never had that before so early on a saturday night and not during school holidays. Service and food besides that was excellent as usual.

Good value for money mid week, food good and a choice of starters, mains and deserts .We went at lunchtime and it was very busy with diners having the special two for £8.99 meal , with options for starters and pudding.

Only moan was the a Caramel apple Betty had been put in a microwave oven and was soggy.

Staff work quickly and efficiently .would go back again .

No longer a brewers Fabre but a “cookhouse & pub” different menu, not in my opinion as good as the previous brewers fayre offerings, the menu seemed reduced although my selections were tasty enough. Two people around me sent under cooked food back to the kitchen!

Staff were friendly & accommodating, breakfast was a bit of a shambles with one server sitting you and another taking your order before the first one came back to take your order, which when it arrived was wrong anyway, maybe they are getting used to the new system & I hope it improves.

User

I had the "Festive menu " 3 course. OK, not a lot of money.

First and pudding course we're fine but don't bother with the turkey main. Food was cold and so obviously reheated. Not much in the way of veg , badly cooked.

We have been several times before and always had pretty good food, but the place is going downhill. To start off, they had run out of bitter...

Waitresses are polite enough, ours tonight almost threw the food on the table and was leaving before she turned back and remembered to ask if we wanted any sauces.

After eating a few chips, I noticed a mark on the base of the white plate, but to my horror it was a long, thick dark hair underneath all of my food, which was obviously there when the food was plated up. This put me right off!!

I spoke to a passing waitress who apologised and said she would get another plate of food, in less than a minute another plate of food appeared, obviously mine re-plated with a few chips flung on top, by which time my husband had noticed a shorter lighter hair across his food too!!!

One I can almost forgive as a mistake, but on both meals is just plain sloppy and is not surprising really when their hair is barely tied back in most cases.

We were offered a refund and an apology by the Manager around the corner out of the way, but she didn't want to spend time talking to us at all and we were not offered any discount on a future meal as an incentive to come back, we couldn't be gone fast enough for her.

The seating has also seen better days, the fabric is dirty and feels sticky in some areas.

We won't be going back, they don't care any more and it's plain to see.

User

Terrible . Rude staff , cold food and over an hour wait when tables that came in 30 minutes after us got served first . What a waste of £65

Nothing more to say .

Room in need of a paint and brush up. We were on the ground floor in the quiet area and the wooden floor boards constantly creek. Food very average over priced and portions very small. Not enough staff for a Friday night, and even though it was only £50 for the night the standards should be the same in every premier in regardless of the price (which I had to point out to a staff member) who clearly didn't want to work there as much as I wished hadn't stayed there. AVOID......

User

Ordered mix grill, steak tough as old boots despite asking for medium, chips tasted like been cooked on old fat ..

Stayed in prem in next door which was excellent btw. Therefore had breakfast next day in same venue as evening meal..

Breakfast help yourself fine and good selection cooked breakfast was to order.. Bacon was barely cooked, hash browns greesy as you like.. Overall poor ..

User

My wife booked in advance and were entitled to a free bottle of drink which didn't appear, food was poor not very warm and my sons desert came out with one scoop of ice cream and a wafer not what we ordered. Service was poor no offer of sauces or anything and no thank you or good bye on departure. As a local will not be visiting again.

User

Firstly I ordered a medium/rare steak and it came out medium/well done and secondly I found part of an egg shell in with my food all the food was over cooked and quite frankly disgusting!! Will not be coming back for a long time if af all

User

Arrived at 11.50, to find no staff anywhere. There was a question of people at bar waiting to be served. At 12 a member of staff appeared. People were then told that food would be 30 mins to an hour. At that time I left and will not be returning.
