Brickhouse Vineyard Description

Brickhouse Vineyard opened in May 2018 following extensive renovation of our 18th Century Round House overlooking the Vineyard. Tucked away in the rolling Devon hills, it is perfect for small weddings, parties and vineyard tours combined with wine tasting.

The vineyard has been established for over 10 years and produces about 1000 bottles a year. In the last few years, more vines have been planted to increase to increase the production.

Joanna and Matt, the owners of Brick House Vineyard, moved to Devon in August 2015. Having worked in the corporate sector in London for over 15 years, we made a decision to relocate to the country with our young family to start new life. We bought a vineyard with an 18th century, Grade II listed threshing barn and Round House, and embarked on a journey of setting up our wine, weddings and events business. We are now in the process of restoring the Round House to create an unique, rustic venue for tailor made events.

About Joanna: I am a wine enthusiast and am passionate about wine and food matching. My interest in wine originated during my studies in Tuscany, where I fell in love with classic Italian wines and their ability to influence the taste of food and enhance the dining experience. I recently completed my Level 3 qualifications with Wines and Spirits Educational Trust with distinction and aim to become wine and food pairing expert. I will run wine tasting events at the Vineyard.

About Matthew: Since the move to the country, I have been learning how to maintain the vineyard. As well as studying the subject, I am getting hands-on training from a dedicated Viticulture consultant who supports management of Brick House Vineyard. I have always been passionate about food and wine, and I love cooking. I am excited about the opportunity to prepare food for the events, using produce from our smallholding and local suppliers. I believe in keeping recipes simple and maximising flavour to showcase quality ingredients.
