Fantastic setting and a pleasure to meet Geoff and Moo.
Geoff was very understanding and helpful when my motorhome decided to break down as soon as we entered the site. If it wasn't for Geoff helping out that weekend I am not too sure what I would have done.
Highly recommended and hopefully we will be back in better circumstances.

There is no hot water in the sinks and showers cost 20p. No washing up area. Beautiful setting by the river.

We had a fantastic, peaceful time by the riverside watching the boats go by in a lovely setting. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
We shall certainly be going again!

Very pretty place but WHAT A NUTTER who runs it. Cant understand why people like this would want to run a campsite? .. Very rude bloke.

This is such a beautiful and tranquil site it truly is a little slice of heaven. The views are amazing and the tranquility of watching the boats go by on the river from my caravan never ceases to amaze. We have been going to bridge house since 2004 and the improvements the the new owners have made since taking it over in November are incredible, all the over grown river reeds and shrubs have been cut to allow a clear view of the river. The collapsed barn / boat house has been replaced and the general up keep has improved 100%. The owners are friendly and helpful and I would ignore the negative comments this truly is a wonderful site with an excellent pub The Barley Mow on your door step (although I would recommend booking). This site is worth a visit with historical Dorchester Abbey and Abingdon only a short distance away it is not one to miss. We will definitely will be returning soon.

The site's location is really nice but the man who runs it is plainly rude. On arrival it was clear that guests are a necessary nuisance to him. The feeling only got stronger over the time due to comments which I could hear from other guests about hospitality of our host. There were some marks on the grass left by a camper when the lawn must have been soaked and soft. Terrible crime indeed, done "by some idiot" as the owner described to the person who did it. Almost certainly accidentally due to the ground being soft. We paid £29 er night for tent space with electrics. Power was there but 80 foot away. He promised extension, never happened. Our kids made friends there and on the last day I "dared" to ask him if we could stay one extra night (I did mention this possibility earlier on arrival). He told me to wait for his wife to come back from town. I politely suggested that I would appreciate more prompt answer because we had plans for the day for the kids. He answered promptly indeed saying that since I am pushing we can not stay. The man literally kicked us out, I was speechless. I have no idea why this man ever got involved in this business or what the place looked like before he got it, but I find it hard to see improvements described by others. Couple of examples: Not a single working tap in the toilets, honestly not even one! paint flaking off the walls, river of urine flowing from the urinals to the sinks where you have to try to wash your dishes with one hand, constantly holding the tap with the other to get some water. And a foot away people have number 1 or 2. Charming. Showers - 20p for 3 minutes sprint, not that you would like to spend more time there! Only stay on this site if you find that space under the nearby bridge is busy, if not then rather sleep under that bridge. Shame, as the site location is really nice.

Just spent 2 nights at this lovely welcoming site with friends. Were directed to 2 pitches together for our motorhome and friends caravan with plenty of room between pitches. A lovely view of the river. Very clean toilet and shower block . The owners were friendly and around the site regularly to make sure all campers were happy. Although lots of tenters, caravans and motorhomes, a peaceful site. We were walking the Thames Path and the owners even picked us up from the end of our walk, going the extra mile to make our stay special. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site.
