Quirky with quality. Brilliant breakfast, friendly staff and a good selection of ales.

We've had some very good stays but on this occasion it was a little disappointing. The courgette bean and halloumi cassoulet was obviously cobbled together at the last minute and tasted raw; nothing like last month when it was rich and delicious.

Breakfast was also disappointing. They had no beans, which while not being a big deal normally meant our vegetarian breakfast consisted of one poached egg, half a tomato and a spoonful of mushrooms. Considering the amount of meat other guests got, it would've been nice had there been more on offer for vegetarians. They do halloumi which could have been grilled and added to make one feel a little less second class

Nice room and friendly staff. Menu not great for vegetarians

Really friendly service and excellent food, particularly breakfast. Ample parking. Dog friendly. Good choice of ales at the bar. WiFi is a bit patchy so do not expect to be able to maintain a connection or load anything quickly. Rooms could have been a bit quieter as you could hear guests moving in the corridor but the bed was comfy.

Climbed Scafell Pike and came down with an otherworldly craving for fish n chips. So drove to the coast, alas there was nowhere to be found that fitted the promise of a hearty seafood platter. However, a kind, yet heavily tattooed maiden pointed yonder to the Bridge Inn, nestled amidst the dales! It provided everything we craved; soft yet meaty haddock encloaked in a golden, crunchy batter. The chips were equally magnificent too and helped to bolster an already fierce portion size. So ye I guess I liked it

Really good food here. The best time is Sunday for the carvery but don't dilly dally as it gets busy there. It's an all you can eat carvery and so you'll see a rare few go back for more. Me included... I would add that the carvery is one of the best I've ever had. Really super and you see people come for mikes for it. Enjoy!!!
