Apprentices working in the 'Food & Drink' sector welding stainless steel. As well as developing practical skills the students are developing in depth knowledge of the subject. Learning about different grades of stainless steel, the effects of heat on materials, distortion control techniques, shielding gas types and the importance of purging.
