It’s coming home, it’s coming home! 200 years ago JMW Turner visited Bridport, and painted the harbour… and the painting is coming to Bridport this Summer… it’s similar to this view #TurnerinBridport

J.M.W. Turner is coming to Bridport!
We are SUPER excited to announce that we have secured the loan of a J.M.W Turner watercolour painting of West Bay for in Summer 2019!
The painting will be travelling down from Bury Museum and Art Gallery in Lancashire, and will be exhibited in the Museum as part of a new exhibition.
... The exhibition will include copies of Turner watercolours such as 'The Fighting Temeraire' pictued here, by Captain Codd, who founded our Museum.
We can't show you the original Turner yet... we're not allowed.... so keep watching this space!
Anyone interested in getting a piece of the action steward at the exhibitions should get in touch with us here or email visitorservices@bridportmuseum.co.uk .
More updates will follow soon!

From Saxon defences to hidden ropewalks and foul-smelling drainage systems!
This is fabulous way to learn more about the town’s origins as far back as Anglo-Saxon times.

What a wonderful place to be, Bridport, there are not many places in the uk that keep people in touch with whats going on - and been going on. As a visitor my husband and I love to be in YOUR town, watching or joining in your towns activities. Thanks
