You're invited to take part in the annual Mixed Doubles Tournament which will be on Sunday April 14th starting at 1pm.
This tournament is open to all adult and intermediate members, and players enter with a partner, at a cost of £10 per pair. Tea and cake will be provided.
... The format will be a round robin stage, where each pair plays a fixed number of games against all the other pairs, followed by a semi final (if there's time) and a final set.
The reward for your efforts, if you win, is a magnificent silver cup, plus prizes. The current holders are Alan and Caroline Cash and if you want to have a go at prising the trophy from them, please contact Diana Dudgeon ASAP (Drop me a reply if you would like her contact details)
I appreciate that it may not be easy to identify a partner, so please contact Diana if you're having difficulty, and she will try to help. Also, if you have any questions, please get in touch.

To All Bridport Tennis Club Members, This is advance notice that the Tennis Club's AGM will be held on Thursday 28th February 2019 at 7.30pm in the Inner Hall at Bridport United Church, East Street, Bridport. An agenda will be sent out in due course but please put the date in your diary. There are some important items on the agenda including the Club's accounts, an update on clubhouse improvements and the use of Club Spark for 2019 membership payments. It would, therefore, be very good to see more members attending this meeting

Early start for Gerry this morning as he was live on BBC Radio Solent being interviewed by Laurence.
I've managed to locate the BBC Radio Solent interview on 30th Jan. If you go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p06wtl6 7 just position the slider at 40:43 mins and the interview continues up to 47:10mins.
... The live interview with Oliver Letwin in his London office re the Tennis Club can be found between 1:16:50 and 1:18:00 mins. Nice bit at the end when he calls us a "wonderful institution"!

Winter League update - Our team played over at Dorchester on their new artificial Clay (which can take a bit of getting used to..) and acquitted themselves really well, Both Mixed pairs Won one Lost one and then the Men won both of theirs but our ladies lost their two so although the score was 4 - 4 we lost on game count back, Again thank you to all players for playing especially on a chilly afternoon,

I'm really enjoying picking up tennis again and sharing it with my son. There are great coaches and the club sessions are fun with just the right amount of competitiveness.
