Bright Chicks Childminding

Bright chicks childminding is a local friendly childminding service with ample of learning experiences for children of all ages.

I am Debbie Adam and I run Bright Chicks child-minding (Ofsted registration number EY478996). I am 33 and married to Andy, we have 3 daughters, a 13 and 11 year old and a 19 month old baby. My daughters are great with other children and are excited to welcome all children to bright chicks. We are an animal loving family with a black lab (lady), a cat (Henry), 2 guinea pigs, 5 laying chickens and tropical fish. I Joined the Army at the age of 16 where I qualified as a chef. After leaving the Army I went on to do several cooking jobs. When my 2 eldest children were young I stayed at home and child-minded six children including my own two. After child-minding I continued to cook for a short period, then decided to further educate myself, so on completing an access course I went on to complete a degree in Human Nutrition where I achieved a BSc hons (first class). Now I have my youngest daughter I am excited to return to child-minding and focusing on children’s nutrition.

My home is in a rural location (near Allington farm shop), giving great opportunities for children to learn about nature. I have a diverse range of toys suitable for children of all ages. My home has easy access with a downstairs toilet, a large kitchen for baking and cooking, a large secure garden with a separate allotment where the children can grow and learn about vegetables. I also have many garden activities.

I am a qualified nutritionist and chef promoting a well balanced healthy (everything in moderation) meals, snacks and activities. I am also inspected by the environmental health as a food provider.

Children learn through play below are some examples of the activities I will be doing with your children while they attend my setting.

Constructing play, Reading books, Internet research, Cooking, Drawing, Arts and crafts, Jigsaws, Dancing, Gardening, Walks, Gymnastics, Foot ball, Mini Assault course, Cars, Lego, Kitchen, Shops, Dolls, Play dough, Rhyme time and Song time.

I also encourage and help children prepare for school through many aspects such as teaching them how to feed themselves correctly to playing with the school set at our setting.

I offer a professional, reliable and flexible service. I aim to build excellent relationships both with parent and child. I Encourage child led play with imagination being the only limits. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is complied with fully and used to aid child development observations.

I am also registered with Wiltshire council to have access to the Nursery Educational Grant and can offer Early years free government funded spaces for 3 and 4 year olds (15 hours of of free childcare a week).

Currently I am full but will have more spaces at the beginning of March when I take on an assistant.
I am open 07: 30 to 18: 30 Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays)

I Understand peoples needs and am flexible
I can offer a FULL time contract (Over 30 hours) @ £4. 10 per hour
as well as a PART time contract (Under 30 hours) @ £4. 25 per hour
Before and after school from St Peters @ £5. 00 per hour.
