Bristol Disability Equality Forum

About Bristol Disability Equality Forum

We work to ensure that Disabled people have a voice and are consulted on everything affecting their lives that is controlled by the statutory sector. We are about Disabled people having independence, choice and control of their lives via an entitlement to the equivalent 'quality of life' that any non-Disabled person has. We do this through: campaigning, lobbying decision-makers, making sure Disabled people are consulted and arranging events where Disabled people can challenge and hold decision-makers to account, pushing for full access to goods, services, support and a social life, improving non-Disabled people's understanding and awareness through the provision of training, advice and consultancy, responding to consultations on issues and policies affecting Disabled people, recommending improvements to policy, procedure and services to deliver disability equality and meet the needs of Disabled people.
