Ruins of St. Mary-le-port
St. Mary-le-port, erected in 1170, was one of the first churches in England to embrace the new doctrines of the Reformation. Down through the years it maintained its evangelical stance. When the church was destroyed by a bomb in World War II its congregation had to move to St. John’s.

The church of St. John the Baptist
After the war the congregation continued true to sound doctrine, which aroused the opposition of the bishop. He eventually had them thrown out of St. John’s and confiscated their funds. The reason given for their eviction was that they preached what the bishop called a ‘strange religion. ’
The building of St. John’s dates back to the time of the old city wall (c. 1400), its steeple being built over the only remaining gate-way into the city (front cover). Nearby is St. John’s Conduit, which has been supplying fresh water to the city since 1267.

Chapel of the Three Kings of Cologne
This little chapel then became the meeting place of the worshippers evicted from St. John’s. Dr. Napier Malcolm ministered to them until they applied to become part of the Free Presbyterian Church.
The Chapel of the Three Kings was built in 1507 for the use of the people then living in the adjoining Foster’s Almshouses.

Ramsey Road Chapel
After joining the Free Presbyterian Church, the group moved into the building in Ramsey Road. The first service conducted there by the Free Presbyterian Church was on 14th April, 2002.
This little chapel was erected as a result of a successful tent mission conducted by Brethren evangelists in 1905.
