Don't miss out for one week only at the Bristol Local Independent Market, the beautiful Bluebell Peak Designs.
"Hi, I'm Yanina Wall, the owner and lead designer of Bluebell Peak Designs. It all began with my favourite view, Cam Peak, Gloucestershire, which was in full bloom with bluebells. I knew I wanted to capture the best of British wildlife and heritage within my home but struggled to find beautifully detailed pieces that used natural materials. With the birth of my daug...hter in 2017 I decided to take the leap and use my illustrative talents to design wooden decor and with the making know-how of my mum this little company was born. We use a laser cutter, cotton and locally sourced cabinetry ply, all in the effort to be as sustainable as possible. We hope you find pieces you are inspired by and will bring joy to your home for many years to come." @ www.bluebellpeakdesigns.co.uk @bluebellpeakdesigns #bluebellpeak

Today's featured artist Judith Hobbs Pottery
Judith creates beautiful, striking and unique pottery for people looking for unusual and innovative design in their homes, gardens and conservatories.... Each pot is different although Judith follows broad themes and shapes, and the exact decoration is always linked to the curve of each newly made pot.
All of the pots Judith makes are unique. The techniques involved in building a pot by hand, along with the natural variations in the materials and the glazing and firing processes mean that no two are ever exactly alike. Judith works in stoneware and terracotta clays, throwing on the wheel and painstakingly building by hand.

Hurry down to the Bristol Local Market and pick up your fresh breakfast bread and pastries from Winnie's Bakery.
Carl believes our daily bread should be good for the soul as well as the stomach and that's why his bakery only uses natural ingredients and none of the chemicals you might find elsewhere.
Winnie's bakery started in 2006 from a small site in Weston-super-Mare and is named after the natural ferment that goes into most of its speciality breads. 'Winnie' started life... as a mix of rye flour and water around twenty years ago and has been bubbling away ever since.
Winnie's Bakery produces a wonderful range of bread and cakes - all made by hand and packed with flavour and character. The Marmite and cheese bread has become a firm favourite with locals, along with the pesto focaccia and award winning spinach and tomato tear 'n' share loaf. If you like something a bit more spicy, then their Inferno bread will be right up your street.
Carl doesn't enjoy getting up early but says he's never been happier than he is now. Making bread that people love and hearing how much they've enjoyed it makes it all worthwhile.
Winnie's bread has a unique flavour. If you've never tried it, you're really in for a treat. They'll be ready and waiting for you at the Local Christmas Market with a fantastic range of craft breads, cakes, pastries and even some special hampers for the festive season.

Featured maker Amazing Bees
German born Christian Maass, growing up with a family background in farming, became more interested in the wild hedgerows, nature and the fascinating activity of bees.
Growing up in the Forest of Dean Christian spend much of his childhood poking around the ponds and hedgerows in and around his local area. Fascinated by nature and the relationships between different organisms, he loved to hear stories about his Great Grandfather who kept bees in... Berlin nearly 100 years ago.
When, in 2005, he took up bee-keeping as a hobby while raising a young family, it was already standard practice to treat bees with toxic chemicals for varroa mite several times a year. Remembering what he had learnt about Darwin’s discoveries in terms of evolution through survival of the fittest and local adaptation he put his faith in this process and decided to support the bees to solve their problems in this time honoured manner.
This David v Goliath story doesn’t end here as Christian has now made his mission to free the users of skin care products from chemical ingredients too..
The almost magical properties of the substances which bees produce, particularly propolis, are under-used and seldom even known about by many people and this inspired him to create skin products which utilise the properties of propolis and beeswax for an organic approach to skincare.
He is still making all the balms by hand in small batches and enjoys interacting personally with customers at events like Bristol Christmas Market and enjoying their reactions when they first try the balms he has made as well as the feedback from repeat customers who fall in love with the product.
Christian loves the fact that he is able to give back to the countryside he so enjoys so much through his work with the bees while bringing some of that magic to the customers he serves.

Featured artist Urban Peacock Clothing The Dream…
Unlike many brands the name ‘Urban Peacock’ came about before anything else. Too many people in the industry this may be seen as a cardinal sin, but the name quite literally came about in a dream. One morning, my Dad told me he had a dream, one where he had his own clothing line. Intrigued, I asked what it was called and he replied urban peacock. Instantly it resonated and I immediately put pen to paper to come up with some... design ideas. As a carpenter by trade with zero experience in this industry it was nothing short of a pipe dream of 'what if's' at the time.
The vision…
The birth of my son was the kick I needed to try and become the best person I could be. I really wanted to become someone he could be proud of and look up too.
With this in mind I wanted to create a brand with a positive message at its core, one that would install a sense of confidence and encourage self-expression.
We needed a powerful logo that represented our mission and our brand ethos. Our logo “UP" signifies new beginnings, strength, confidence and spells the direction in which we want to take the Urban Peacock community
The future...
We want to inspire the next generation to make mindful choices when it comes to the products they consume. We want to build a community with ethical values at its core, and mould a brand people can look up to for support in times of hardship. To help us achieve this we will be working closely with other local business' who carry the same values, who are environmentally inclined and continually try to improve their products and sustainability.
This is our dream and we'd love you to be a part of it.
