Bristol Table Tennis Academy - The place to study whilst playing full time table tennis.

The Table Tennis Academy offers an opportunity for players to fulfil their potential whilst undertaking a quality education.

The Academy is open to players of all standards and has forged a reputation for producing and improving players over the last five years. Any student taking a full-time course at Filton College may apply for a place on the Academy programme and selection is made on an individual basis.

Leading the Academy is former England International player and national team coach Kevin Satchell. Former Hong Kong International Choi Sze To completes the coaching staff and provides an insight into Chinese methods of training and excellence. The Academy also provides training partners /coaches to aid improvement. The current training partner is a Korean star known as Je Kwon. Je is a major asset to the training hall who provides top class training.

Players have the opportunity to train up to 16 hours a week both on and off the table. The facilities are second to none in further education with air conditioned sports hall, state-of-the-art fitness suite and running track as well as full-time physiotherapy support and individual training programmes.

The Academy has an unrivalled reputation for producing and improving players and has been National Schools U19 champions for the past three years. The College was represented in Beijing in 2008 and has collected a host of local league, county and national titles.

A huge community development programme underpins the table tennis Academy and provides an opportunity for those players wishing to pursue a career in table tennis coaching. This programme has grown over the past two years and Academy players are given the opportunity to develop their coaching careers within an established programme.

The Academy was nominated as ‘Outstanding’ at its most recent Ofsted inspection, ensuring a quality experience and a quality education.
