Excellent place for an outing with children. Probably more attractive for children up to teens. Limited choice of places to eat. Excellent activity area for younger children. High wire course for older. Much variety of animals. Grounds very well looked after

Love the Zoo, great for the kids, best advice though is to bite the bullet and buy a season ticket (family) and then go there 2-3 times in the year to get your moneys worth. Fantastic full day out or even just for taking a picnic and sitting on the grass, having a coffee or ice cream and going again. Well worth the investment for a young family.

Had a really enjoyable day. Much better than expected. Booked on-line so paid £30 for 2 adults and 2 children. Think it's definitely worth that as we were there for the day. Not much food choice that was the only let down. Had to pay £3 for car park which was unexpected.

Great zoo. Smaller than many but features a range of animals, birds and insects including Asiatic lions and gorillas. Animals seem very happy with the lions being the most active and behaving the most catlike that I've seen. Watch out for the talks / feeding times to see more of the animals. Restaurant does great food (although had some staffing issues when I visited - hopefully a one-off)

The zoo is nice and clean and staff are friendly. Parking could pose a problem on busy days. At the moment they have dinosaurs, not many though. So for my son that was the main attraction, which makes it just about value for money. Without the the dinosaurs and just the zoo, it is not worth paying £18 per adult and £14 per child.

The zoo has has small range of animals, they don't have the popular animals such as elephants and giraffes. Although, they do have lions and gorillas that you can see very close up. The sea lions and penguins sections are very good and this and the lions were my son's highlight of the day out along with the dinosaurs.

They also do live shows with commentary from expert zoo keepers, which is good, however, it can get overcrowded at busy times.

The zoo has a nice restaurant, which serves food for lunch and also serves tea and coffee and a selection of cakes, which are average prices compared to other high street coffee shops.

Have been visiting for over 15 years and still love this place. Some areas looking a little tired but they keep renewing to maintain a good overall experience. Most fascinating for me are the reptiles and bugs. A must-see for visitors to Bristol with children.

This is a great place to visit for the whole family. It has a wide variety of animals, plants, insects and flowers.

Many of the exhibits have indoor areas so it is easy to stay dry and warm even in the worst weather.

They also have a large coffee tent with a burger bar, drinks shelf, bakery and hot drinks with plenty of seats and tables available.

We had to pay £3 for parking and £12 per person for entry, which I feel is a reasonable entry price for the 3+ hours we spend walking around the place.

An amazing range of animals in a place that manages to have a strong sense of history while not feeling at all old-fashioned. Bristol Zoo is enormously popular for good reason! If you live in Bristol and have young children, a year-long ticket is great value - you can just pop in for plenty of short visits, not feel you have to stay to "get your money's worth" and even waltz past the big queue on busy days! We love our zoo.

They manage to get some great animals into such a small space. The lions seen to be in such a small space but conversely the red pandas and the gorillas are so well suited and well displayed. Heavily engaged in conservation work it is a great example to educate and inform. Well worth a visit if only to support their work. Two adults can get in for £34 if booked online via the web site.
