This team is really professional!

Thank you for all!

Even though, I condemn political rudeness and murder, but quality education must be higher than the speculation of politicians. We have long been living in a global village.

The service is good, but the reexamine time just take too long ( 6-8 weeks) I don't know what is the actual time it takes but it probably should be shortened.

Dear team at British council! I appeared for my ielts on 2nd December 2017,my centre was lahore pakistan. The result was expected after the 13th days. I got an email starting that my result is being with held and will take more than 13 days. Now 60 has passed british council has failed to response the queries. Kindly provide information on when to expect the result.

User

Very poor service and unprofessional. They withheld results by purpose so the process can take long and when ask for update they dont give you any. Such a shame. Never expected a british organisation could be like this.

User

They provided me such a bad service for my IELTS examination. My results is being withheld for too long. Don't take the exam with them if you want to use it.

On April 16, 2018, I received by e-mail the information that the BEC Higher exam had been canceled due to insufficient enrolment and that the refund should occur within 4 weeks.

I had to enroll in a new exam (CAE) without receiving the refund, which in itself is inelegant enough. I did so and it was indicated to me that the refund of the first exam, to which I had originally registered, could take up to 5 weeks.

IT'S BEEN 8 WEEKS since the cancellation of the exam and I am still waiting for my refund

That said, I find this situation to be unacceptable. It is a tremendous lack of consideration for students who have worked to enroll in an exam for cultural and educational enrichment. It is inconceivable that after 8 weeks, the British Council, which claims to be an international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities, has not yet reimbursed a blameless student for a cancellation of an exam. I am aware that refunds are processed internationally, but this is not the responsibility of the student. The student can not and should not be harmed by external factors. Please note that 8 weeks have passed since notification of the cancellation of the exam.

Unfortunately, I do not have the financial stability to fund a trip to London to make a complaint. As such, and as soon as opportunity arises, I will make the complaint of the whole situation in your premises.

My friend took a 1 year English course (35K SGD) at #BritishCouncilSingapore. #BritishCouncil customer service staff brought her along with other students to a MCR Clinic in Little India for the mandatory medical test required in Singapore for a student visa (HIV blood testing & tuberculosis x-ray testing). A few days later the staff Christina Goh without authorization collected the test results and viewed the sealed envelope with blood and x-ray results without consent. My friend only found out about the results at the visa appointment with the immigration officer.

Until arrival at the clinic the group of students was not told where they were brought to for the testing. MCR Clinic is a clinic licensed to do medical tests on predominantly Indian construction workers for their work permits. As far as I am aware no doctors work at this testing facility. The hygienic situation at the clinic is appalling. The smell at MCR Clinic is an outright stench and the place seems not clean let alone sanitized regularly if at all. My friend had to remove her clothes for the x-ray and was given a for the procedure t-shirt that was so filthy that it was literally blackened around the neck from the sheer number of workers that wore the particular t-shirt before as they were x-rayed for their work permits at this facility. It seems this t-shirt had not been washed in years. Needless to say the experience was traumatizing for my friend and the other students.

Complaint to customer service in Singapore was made on the same day did not result in anything. Reaching out to country head Roland Davies in Singapore to discuss the issue was unsuccessful. He did not offer to speak and as requested and also did not call although provided with contact details. Reaching out to customer services with a complaint in the UK to Sarah Andrew and Vicki Bowker also lead nowhere. Until today British Council has not provided an explanation let alone apologized.

I wish that I'd read these comments before we booked our exam. We booked and paid 2 months ago, were told to expect the time of the exam 2 days before (yesterday). We called numerous times yesterday as we still had not heard back from the BC. Each time we were fobbed off with an excuse and told to expect an email. Today we called and on the third call we were finally told that the exam had been cancelled. How is this possible in this day and age? We booked a hotel, closed our own business to attend, and paid in full for the exam. Totally unacceptable. We need the exam for a visa extension. Here's hoping we don't get deported.

I took an IELTS exam on 10th of February in British Council, Tanzania. It was a bad experince for me because the exam atmosphere was unserious. We pay more than 200$ and as a result we expect a professional exam. Invigilators were talking to each other. While i was trying to write my reading exam, one of the invigilators started to take our signature by whispering everybody one by one. Then, he started to erase everybody's signature on each of ours desk and wanted to have a signature with a pen again. I have one hour for reading, not for signing some documents. And do i have to listen the explanation of why he was taking our signature and why he was erasing even if it was by whispering. While listening exam, the student behind me wanted to drink water by taking the plastic on top. It makes lots of noise and I couldn't hear some points. Invigilators didn't do anything for that also. Speaking day was awful also. We had to wait in an area that has an alarm sound. Their security alarm was not working and giving an alarm repeatedly. It was like a toture. In listening exam, the man who talked to me was not listening to me carefully. He asked something I didn't mention like I mentioned. And he was alone also. Without listening carefully, how can he give me mark? It was really unserious, i hope I won't have to take this exam again, especially in Tanzania.

I gave my test in Bathinda(Punjab)India..Hotel CIS Mansa Road HBN Bathinda.I’m providing you a number of that hotel(‭0164-5200200‬)

Bad service

Even there was no water,as a result parents felt very bad, because of hot weather outside.

Hotel staff didn’t provide water to the parents and told them we can give service to our guests who will stay in hotel not for candidates parents.

My question is that why BRitish council choose this type of hotel who have not any values of humanity.

Even there was no shop outside from one can buy the chilled water.

User

I gave my IELTS exam on 10 Feb, 2018 and still i am waiting for my result. Hire some staff if you charge us this much for an exam and get these problems solved in time. Very pathetic organization you got there.

User

I am really disappointed so I have to use the social media.

The ielts exam for UK visa which was supposed to be held in Portsmouth in 16 Dec 2017 got cancelled due to technical reasons. They said they will refund the amount which was £200 also said they will refund the transportation charge.

Its been 2018 March they still haven't refunded back. I have provided scanned documents. They just say we will look at it.

So quick to charge money but when it's their turn to refund they not doing anything.

User

Hi,

I have contacted your Dublin office because I am unable to see my results online (20th of January). Apparently, it is due to a technical issue where Identification Document Number of French ID are not supported by the website.

Can you please report this to your technical/web development and warn French candidates about this issue in the future ?

This situation is unacceptable and unworthy of an international exam. Beside, it's really frustrating to see that even in this unusual case, employees are not permitted to provide Overall Results by phone due to "data protection" and also onsite due to "incapacity to do it".

Serious consideration should be given to make exception about providing results over the phone/onsite if it has been established that it's the fault of your organization. Really funny to see that the registration service is able to subscribe candidates so fast after the payment, but completely incompetent when it's about giving results, which is the heart of your business.

I hope my feedback will be take in consideration and improvements will be done OR in the website OR in your security policy process.

Best regards,

Frustrated with your UK Customer Service team. It has been 2 months since I’ve cancelled my IELTS test and was supposed to get a refund. You are charging me a 25% admin fee and yet I am the one doing all the admin! I’ve emailed your team every working day since last week and only got a response last Friday saying they would check with the Centre Manager. Went to ask the status again this week and proceeded to email you guys everyday this week with no avail. I’ve communicated with 4 different customer service agents and none are helpful at all! This is so NOT ON British Council!

Extremely poor service. Does not allow students to bring their own stationary yet provided them the low quality pencils & eraser. The test was placed in a hotel which tables have soft surfaces makes it very hard to write on. Want my money back.

User

Due to quality control analysis,my result is still being withheld from more than three months. This result is important for me from financial point of view as well.

Somewhat i feel it's a scam to make money upon someone's emergency.

And no one is helping me reagrding this.

Dear teacher, I took part in the IELTS test (Academic Training) on October 14th 2017 in Park Royal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the purpose of pursuing the Master Degree of America abroad. I have been written the statement of investigation to u. Now, I am writing to apply for the test results so that i can offer my scores to my school.

As prerequisites of profession assessment, I was informed that I have to take an IELTS test and reach at least level 7 on all four components by a university. However, my scores with held. I have been prepared the IELTS for nearly two years. I read the English books everyday at least 2 hours in the past year. I think my English scores should have reached at level 7. Maybe my poor score of speaking is due to little nervous during the speaking test, after all that i study hardly for getting a required scores. I will lose the golden opportunity of applying the good reputation university if I wait for three months for the next test. In 1st November,2017, I sent my statement to the official in Malaysia, I am waiting my result about 100days. Everytime i called to Malaysia, they just tell me I need to wait, I don't know how long I should wait, please help me.
