Dongyue Tai Chi
Dongyue or East Mountain Tai Chi was created by Professor Men Hui Feng and his Wife Professor Gan Gui Xiang. It was revealed to the world in 2000 atop Mount Tai Shan and was part of the millennium Broadcast. On the first day of the New Millennium there was a special television programme showing the Best of a country's Culture and Traditions as January 1st arrived in that country. China Central Television (CCTV), using helicopters to film, then broadcasting through satellite to 4 billion people in 150 countries, brought the Shining Pearl of Chinese culture - Tai Chi to the world. Demonstrated by Professor Men on the top of the Tai Mountain - the greatest of the 5 famous mountains in China, at 1545m above sea level and with a 2. 5 billion year history. His demonstration showed the harmony of Heaven, Earth and Man and was the highlight of the Chinese Programme.
Dongyue Taijiquan is made up of liu pai (6 systems) of Chinese Martial Arts. These being Taiji, Xingyi, Bagua, Baji, Chuo Jiao, Fanzi, as well as combining both Professor Men Hui Feng’s and Professor Kan Gui Xing’s lifetime of experience.
Dong Yue Style has many different forms such as Barehand forms (eg. Form 1 and 2), Weaponry forms (eg. Sword, Broadsword, Short Pole, Spear etc. ) and Duel forms (eg. Sword to Sword).
The Form One demonstrated by Professor Men on January 1st consists of 15 basic and typical movements taken from Chen, Yang, Sun, Wu and Woo styles. It takes about 3-4 minutes to complete practising the whole form

Professor Men Hui Feng is one of the most accomplished and famous Wushu Masters in the world. He is a university professor of Wushu to the University of Beijing and is named by the Chinese government as one of the top 10 practitioners in the world. Professor Men formulated the arrest and restraint unarmed combat system for the Chinese army and security forces. He is famous for creating the Sun Style Chinese National Competition Form, the 48 step combined taijiquan and the 42 step International Competition taijiquan form and taijijian (taiji sword) forms. In 2000 he created and launched Dong Yue Style Taiji.

Brian first met his Teacher Professor Gan Gui Xing in 1987 in Beijing where Brian was studying Taijiquan and Wushu. Professor Gan Gui Xing is Brian's Chen Style Taiji Teacher. Professor Gan Gui Xing is the wife of Grandmaster Men Hui Feng and is famous for creating one of the most popular forms of taijiquan, the Chen Style competition form. She was named by China as one of the current generation of Chen style taijiquan grandmasters (there were 6 masters named). She also had significant contribution to the composition of the recent Dong Yue Style Taijiquan created by Men Hui Feng.

Dong Yue Association (Italy) is headed by Brian McKinney’s Master… the great Master Xu Hao.

Brian first met his Teacher Professor Men in 1987 in Beijing where Brian was studying Taijiquan and Wushu. In 2008 Professor Men accepted Master Brian McKinney as a “Personal Student” and appointed him as President of the British branch of Dong Yue Taijiquan Association.
