It's a serious but very exciting week at Upton Hall as students come in to take their exams. It is not easy becoming a #horologist but it's a skilled, varied and creative career with a lot of opportunities. We get many calls at Upton Hall from people looking for a #horologist to repair or restore their precious clocks and watches. #WednesdayMotivation

Big Ben's running fast... Though as the official organisation for clock and watch training and subsequent accreditation in the UK, we do approve this costume, despite the associated hazards. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lon don-48084878

Today's Taster Day: Introduction to Watches with James Welbourne is full! We're really excited about bringing people to the world of #horology. Next month we'll be introducing people to turret clocks, and there'll be another Watches Taster Day in June. #education

Exam practise today and tomorrow with Jim Arnfield at Upton Hall, servicing and correcting faults in a single train clock. Not all students have workshops to practise in, so they can use ours #horology #education #clocks

Day two of our exam practise course in constructing #watch and #clock components. It's important that students can get practical experience on a workbench as they prepare. #horology #education #heritageskills

Examination practise course in constructing #watch and #clock components today at Upton Hall, with Education Officer Alan Burtoft, because not everyone has easy access to a #horology workbench. Good luck to all our students. More courses at http://ow.ly/uW3Z50md6pY

The BHI staff challenged the Museum of Timekeeping to a 'friendly' ten pin bowling evening - BHI Manager Brian Noble, provided a trophy, which he unwillingly presented to John Hope, Captain of the Museum of Timekeeping at dinner after the game! It's the taking part that matters - not who wins?
