About British Judo Association

The British Judo Association is the recognised National Governing Body for the Olympic sport of judo in Great Britain. British Judo is a membership organisation and delivers judo through its network of clubs and qualified coaches across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. There are just under 900 British Judo Association Clubs in Great Britain. The Association is a member of the International Judo Federation, European Judo Union, British Olympic Association, The Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR), Commonwealth Judo Association and Commonwealth Games Council. The Association has the responsibility of developing and governing the sport at all levels from grass roots to Olympic level competition. Its remit includes governance, coaching, events, technical, welfare and the promotion of the sport. The Association has 85 employees and is based in Loughborough. The British Judo Centre of Excellence is based at the University of Wolverhampton, Walsall campus.
