About British Softball Federation

The vast majority of UK softball is played in the co-ed (mixed) slowpitch format but there are numerous single-sex slowpitch teams and a growing fastpitch community. There are many regional slowpitch leagues around the country whose teams affiliate annually to the BSF through their leagues, as do fastpitch teams through the Great Britain Fastpitch League. Tournament-only teams must also affiliate in order to take part in BSF National Championship tournaments. Aside from National Championships, there are a multitude of local tournaments during the summer in different parts of the country. Softball also has a wide-ranging Great Britain Softball National Teams programme in both fastpitch and slowpitch. This includes men's and women's senior fastpitch teams, youth fastpitch teams for girls at Under-13, Under-15, Under-18 and Under-22 age levels and for boys at Under-18 and Under-22 levels. In slowpitch we have a Men's slowpitch team which are the current Europan gold medalists, and a national co-ed slowpitch team that won the European Co-ed Slowpitch Championship on ten straight occasions. The GB Women's Fastpitch Team is ranked third in Europe and 14th in the world, and in 2019 were the runners up in Africa /European Olympic qualifying berth for Tokyo 2020. The GB Men's Fastpitch Team is currently ranked fifth in Europe and 13th in the world. The GB Co-ed Slowpitch Team is currently ranked first in Europe.
