British Veterinary Association - Bva Description

We guide our members throughout their careers, from student to retirement, with the support and knowledge they need to achieve their goals, and to speak up for them on the issues that matter most.

We are the only UK veterinary association that looks after the interests of all vets in all disciplines. Our members are at the heart of everything we do and, with the power of more than 15, 000 members behind us, weŌĆÖre able to provide a voice to represent members and services to support them.

Working for the BVA has been a highlight of my veterinary career. Anyone who wants to get involved in supporting and representing our profession should not hesitate. The staff support is superb and the issues are constantly interesting and stimulating.

Hello everyone. I'm a very big animal lover and constantly fight for their rights. I'm looking for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to help me with something. At present animal cruelty is on the rise, puppy farmers are keeping animals in horrific conditions and if prosecuted these abusers are given lenient sentences by the Courts. It's a national disgrace. I'm currently speaking with a member of the Scottish parliament whose asked me to e-mail her with my concerns and she can raise them in parliament. I'm looking to start a group of animal welfare experts who can all meet, discuss what's currently wrong, what sentences these people should get and what we want parliament to do. If any veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses wish to take part please send me a private message. Meetings will be held in Glasgow. I also want to send a letter to all MPs with the same recommendations. Animals are our best friends and we should be the voice of the voiceless. Thank you.

Fantastic when you have animals and want to keep up to date

User

Useless organisation with rude unhelpful people. Hope karma visits the nasty cow i spoke to on the phone the other week . Not nice when you need help and have to deal with ignorance like that.

User

I think this organization should hang it's head in SHAME regarding the terrible animal cruelty that is embroidered within Leigh cats and dogs home in Leigh and the vets associated with this hell hole should be investigated.
