Brixham Marina

About Brixham Marina

Brixham Marina is in the heart of Brixham, a picturesque Devon town in the wider area of Torbay. Sheltered from the south-westerly winds and offering safe access in all weathers and at all states of the tide, the 485-berth marina is the perfect base.

Brixham Marina Description

Businesses on site include a yacht and powerboat brokerage, yacht charter and a sea school. Basic provisions and diesel are available and there is a bar and restaurant.

Dartside Quay Marine Service Centre
Tucked away at the head of Galmpton Creek, Dartside Quay lies some three miles upriver from Dartmouth. The 7-acre dry boat storage area has space for over 300 boats and is serviced by a 65-ton hoist, one of the largest in the area, which operates from a purpose-built dock. There is also a 16-ton trailer hoist operating on a slipway.

Out and about
There’s plenty of things to do for all ages in Brixham. The fishing harbour is buzzing from early in the morning when the fish auctions are held, until late in the evening when the seafood restaurants are filled with diners and sea shanties can be heard in the local hostelries. This is traditional England at its best.

Torbay has several beautiful anchorages and there are many fine restaurants to visit, both in Brixham and Torbay across the bay, where we also have a marina. To the west is the River Dart, and further on the spectacular Cornish coastline with the cruising grounds of Fowey, the Fal Estuary and the Helford River all within reach.

Head east and visit Babbacombe Bay, the Teign Estuary and the River Exe. For the more adventurous, a cruise across to the Channel Islands is a popular weekend trip.

We are looking forward to the RNLITorbay on Sunday here in Brixham. Just a word of caution to all our berth holders that on Sunday there will be limited access to the loading and un loading area in the marina due to the RNLI activities taking place. The trolleys will be located at the GIG club units for use. Please note that the car park on Sunday will be busy. Please note that your permit does NOT guarantee you a space, this is always on a 1st come 1st served basis, when its full its full. This event happens once per year so I would appreciate you patience and cooperation during this special day. Enjoy the day and in particular stick around for the fireworks in the evening. What a weekend and start to the week we have had. We waited to welcome Prolific Ocean Youth Trust South we had the pleasure of sailing on her on Monday evening. Then we got a call during our voyage to go and rescue two lads who were in need of assistance, so we then towed them back to Brixham. We met not only a great team but also new friends we were honoured to be part of their first voyage for 2018 from Brixham and we look forward to that barbecue when you return to the south west finest marina. We had the pleasure of spending 4 weeks here while we redied our new boat to sail home , the staff couldn't of been more helpful and friendly and knew where we could source parts and services locally . Also so much to keep the littluns happy and entertained without having to travel far , We will definitely be returning again this summer

Spent a week here with the kids. Couldn't have asked for more. Great pubs, great walks, great coastline, great views, great ferry links and an all round great resort. Loved the place. Fab memories.

Soo much to do at brixham marina.. we are here for a week and every day we have found something new to do and every day there is something different going on. You got everything in a small area... fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, fresh fish, pubs, restaurants. Fishing trips, and lots of spaces to do crabbing which our kids loved. Everyone so friendly and helpful. Love this place and would love to come back

I was worried going back to Brixham after such a long time since last visiting but I shouldn't have worried. It was vibrant busy and such a relaxing place to be. Loads of different things to do, fishing trips, ferries between the different towns, pubs chippies ice cream parlour and of course numerous shops to browse. I won't be away for so long again.

Keep it up Brixham.

User

I love how dog friendly it is

Delightful place to sit and watch the world go by, or take a stroll around the harbour.

Lovely little gift shops, full of quirky gifts for the family or home.

Fantastic for children, especially the pirate ship, or for crabbing.

I adore this place, it's wonderful 😄

Brixham Marina is a traditional British marina that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit a quintessential British sea-side town over the Summer months.

A rainbow of pastel-coloured cottages and homes sit upon the edge of the cliffs that surround the harbour, as you'd expect in a postcard picture. With the nearest bus station 5-10 minutes away, you have the opportunity to venture through the towns highstreets, passing all the key shops you'd expect to find in any UK town centre, before finally emerging into the marina.

Souvenir and tourist-based shops form the main street of the marina, together with cafe's and restraunts that serve freshly prepared fish that melts in your mouth and is destined to keep you going for many hours.

Photographers and tourists alike will be overwhelmed with the abundance of photo-oppurtunities that Brixham Marina has to offer, spanning the entire periphery of the harbour.

Arguably, the marina has no downsides. A picturesque landscape with a vivid front, inhabited by friendly locals and tourists - such hospitality might be considered a miracle, down south.

As a local boy who, like many, moved away a long time ago, Brixham wasn't on everybodies tick list to visit, well it is now, wow what a lovely day out it is now , caught ferry from Torquay to Brixham £3 return excellent value , well done Weston Lady, Brixham has managed to retain its original charm and smell of fishing trade and mix some trendy restaurants and bars in a sympathetic way. Well done thoroughly enjoyed it

User

Arrived on a busy weekend with the RNLI open day so lots going on and the place was buzzing, a great atmosphere and everybody has been so very friendly. Loads to see and do so hoping we can stay for more then the 2 nights we have booked. We were so lucky to see up close a pod of dolphins just before we arrived and dog walking here is great. Walking around the town reminds me a lot of Cornwall but the place has a Mediterranean look and feel so it seems like we have gone abroad for our holiday, helped by the glorious sunshine obviously. If you haven't visited, you simply must.

User

Absolutely love this place. 2nd time here. WeFerry are amazing with their local ferry service and fishing trips. My 5yr old loved the mackerel trip, first time sea fishing. The harbour is clean, people very friendly and always something going on. I can't forget the crabbing which the men / boy in the party loved too. Looking forward to next time.

User

A beautiful marina which has become quite upmarket this year with a lovely cocktail bar and restaurants. My favourite is Rock Fish where you can sit outside and watch all the fishing boats coming in.
