Clean hands, open hearts and say the Lord's Prayer instead of Happy Birthday when you wash your hands.
At our deacons meeting on Tuesday 10 March, we discussed what we as a Church could do in practical terms to support one another and adhere to the best practice procedures issued by the UK Chief Medical Officer.
... As we move into the “delay" phase of the Coronavirus response, we want to ensure that we are loving our neighbour as best we can with care and humility, thinking especially of the elderly and most vulnerable within our community.
In that regard, we would ask that if you have flu-like symptoms (eg high temperature or a new and continuous cough) that you please follow government advice and stay at home for seven days. Otherwise, all are welcome. When we come to church, please can we ensure that we wash our hands regularly (and maybe pray The Lord’s prayer instead of Happy Birthday!).
Whilst we want to give everyone a warm welcome, please avoid handshakes and hugs. We will endeavour to have hand sanitisers available subject to supply.
We will also be following the policy recommended by the Baptist Union of Great Britain on matters of communion (small cups and individual bread), and advice about cleaning and hygiene. Click here to view the latest advice that they give.
