Broadstreet would like to announce the following changes for the 2019/20 season.
Cliffie Hodgson has stepped down as 1st XV Head Coach to focus on playing at a higher level for the next couple of years.
“We are obviously saddened to lose Cliffie after a successful first season, we wish him all the very best with his desire to play at the highest level one more time, and we hope he returns to the Street once he hangs up his boots”.
... Brett Daynes will take up the position of 1st XV Head Coach / Forwards Coach with immediate effect and will continue as a player/coach.
“Brett has shown his abilities on and off the pitch and we are prepared to back him in his new role, he is already part of the coaching structure and is ready to push the squad forward. We are currently looking for a Backs Coach to support Brett in time for the pre-season”.
Paul Harcourt will be installed as the new Director of Rugby at the Street.
“Paul has been there as a Coach and DoR before so has the experience, as a committee man he has shared my desire to change the traditional role of a DoR, whilst he will be accountable for Senior Rugby, the role has changed and we are looking to the future from our U6’s to our Touch teams. The emphasis of club rugby is clear, providing Juniors / Colts with pathways into Senior Rugby has become more important than ever."
The Club will also be announcing further Colts / Senior Coaching appointments in the near future to help support the playing structure for 2019/20 and beyond.
