Worst hospital I have been in. It's not fair to say that everyone is like this because there are genuinely nice and supportive individuals there but some of the staff there I can't even describe without being rude. A family individual stayed in this hospital and called the button for support because she was in agonizing pain and no one came for 20 minutes. I had to personally go find a nurse myself. Of course they were all happily chatting away in their staff room.

On other occasions my family member threw up on herself and no one came to help her. No one. The doctors never come on time to you or anything.

There are so many more bad stories I have with this hospital I could write a book on it. Please if you care about your loved one and they have a serious illness avoid this hospital.

Very modern, recently built hospital. It feels like you are sitting inside an airport lounge, rather than a grim looking hospital waiting area. Inside there are shops like M&S, W H Smith etc, as well as a pharmacy. The signage is very clear and you can easily find the ward/area you are looking for. Staff are friendly as well. There is plenty of Pay & Display parking, but being a busy hospital, it does take a bit of time to find a parking space.

Dear Dr Zwink,

Re: My treatment at The A & E department Broomfield Hospital 31 October 2017.

I would like to thank you and your staff for the kind, expedient and wonderful treatment that I received in your department and in the whole of Broomfield Hospital.

When I arrived at 7.30am on Tuesday 31st un-announced and in terrible pain I was expertly and speedily treated. The whole process was smoothly and professionally handled. Within 15 minutes of arriving I was receiving effective pain relief and within a very short period of time I had a double contrast CT of my abdomen. Although potentially serious the gut decide it would start working again and by the time I was reviewed on the ward by the surgical registrar Justin Lawrence I was completely better. After an informed discussion we agreed that the best place for me was home.

This experience has greatly reinforced my confidence in the emergency services provided by your hospital. It is great example what can be achieved when a team works together.

Thank all your wonderful staff from me

Have only been for bloodwork, but the staff are always quick and kind. The building is a bit of a maze if you don't know where you are going.

Our daughter had crushed her thumb in the door, we went to A&E who had referred us to the Broomfield hospital, made us an appointment for surgery on a Wednesday morning at 7.30am without any food or drinks we traveled all the way from Ilford and waited and waited to be advised that All the doctors were on wards, finally they arrived at 12.30 to tell us they could not operate and made us a further appointment for Saturday morning at 7.30am again no food or drinks. We arrived on time and it is now 2.35pm still no news of when surgery is Lilly to happen.
This is the worst hospital I have been to for time keeping they have no respect for the importance of other people's time.
Would not recommend it to anyone

The staff are very nice but the management needs to get efficiency in order.

Rather than risking the ridiculous parking we used the shuttle bus from the Chelmer Valley Park & Ride, 10 minutes away. Usual great service in the hospital itself. Great staff in all departments. The only downside - Shame nobody enforces the smoking ban - you have to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke when entering/leaving main reception.

Transferred with my premature babies from London hospital to neonatal unit.
Told I wasn't allowed to breastfeed my twins by nurse. I asked if I could and she told me no, only when we do our care routine.)
I lost my milk and I never breastfed despite all the work I'd done in London hospital with the wonderful and helpful nurses.
Appalled by staff behaviour.
Level of care nowhere NEAR London despite it looking like they had a lot more money.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone as nurses made a very stressful time, far more stressful. A mother should always have a right to feed her children- apparently not in YOUR hospital.

Second time in Broomfield hospital in 3 days: first time for the blood test - in and out in 20 min, but the parking was a nightmare!!!
Today in A&E department- no problem with parking (but I was here at 17.00!) - blood test, heart rate and seeing the consultant in less then 1,5 hours!!! Impressive!!! Good job A&E!!! Thank you!!!

I rate this a 5 on the basis I had a 1 year old with burns. We were brought to our local hospital by ambulance then I was told to make my way to here (an hour and bit drive) however I'm glad in the long run. Altough we had to make trips every few days for a month and ended up saying in for a few nights, my daughter was left with minimal scarring and I got to sleep in a room with her. The nurses were great so friendly and helpful!! Thanks to these guys my daughter's chest arm and chin are looking normal again!! Thank you

After sitting for 7 hours on a hard chair in a waiting room with no food or drink I was told my operation had been cancelled. Many changes need to be made on this ward (Mayflower Ward). The staff were excellent and couldn't be more apologetic. It was obvious they were working under a great deal of stress, apparently, they are ignored by the higher archy when they complain on behalf of the patients. Also offices have been installed on the ward that are not being used and they are taking up ward space so cutting down bed capacity, why is this? Something needs to be done urgently for the sake of the patients and the morale of the staff. By the way I am 73 years old and although in reasonably good health this experience did not do me a lot of good.
