Wish I was there now. We had a wonderful 5 days. It was our first time camping and loved it. My son thought the games room was fabulous. It was very quiet which is exactly what we wanted and I loved that I could take my dogs. Only one thing and that was there wasn't always toilet roll on the toilets. But will deffo be back

User

Went camping for the first time and booked here for 2 nights. Great location as only few minutes from centre of Whitby if in a car or 10 minutes walking along the cinder track. Site was very clean, children's play area , showers and toilets as well as a kitchen area with a fridge to use to store our food . Amazing views and very helpful owners. The site also has a wildlife rescue centre which my children loved looking around with one of the volunteers.

The owners have recently installed luxury pods which looked fantastic and well worth a trip back here to stay in them.

Will def stay here again

User

User

User

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in the lodge. It's really spacious with great facilities. This is our 3rd stay at Broomfield farm and there will be many more in the future. Very highly recommend this place.

User

Thank you very much for our lovely stay at your lodge. Definately recommended & definately will be booking again x

Stayed in Doves Haven/ Horseshoe for one night, having known this was situated by sewage works due to prior research, we only found an odd smell outside of the property, never inside and this was not a continuous odour, only noticeable on arrival, as a family of smokers, we spent a lot of our time outside, the odour did not remain present the entire time.

We found them to be clean, comfortable, very accommodating for our needs, low beams in Doves Haven but we moved the beds slightly to accommodate us.

Very friendly and accommodating owners.

7 of us went and all 7 would happily book again.... thank you for everything

We recommend *****

Perfect location, beautiful cottages in a peaceful setting. Warning to people who like too complain for the sake of complaining, if you don't like converted barns with low ceilings and beans don't stay here. For the rest of the people who like something a little quirky this is for you, it's great for families to get together and just enjoy each others company. The site also offers Huts for glamping with onside wash rooms. Have fun making memories

Myself and my family have been staying here at Broomfields for the last 6 years and personally wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting whitby. All the cottages are well equipped and spacious and nothing is ever too much trouble. It is just a short walk in to whitby itself or has other various footpaths nearby. They are also extremely pet friendly which is a great help for us. We even stayed in the Glamping Pods for 3 nights which was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for something different. We recommend broomfields to everyone looking to stay in Whitby and are really pleased to see it thriving and expanding. We will hopefully be back in the nect few months :).

User

Just returned from our spur of the moment trip and have to say what an amazing trip it was. Ideal location for exploring, perfect for dogs and kids. Excellent - will definitely be booking again!

User

Just returned from celebrating our first family Christmas away from home & would like to say a massive thank you to Laurie for making it so special. We had an amazing time & can't wait to come back.

The cottages are clean, rustic & have everything you need, we even cooked a full 3 course Christmas lunch!

The games room is great & there are plenty of lovely walks near by, my parents even stumbled across the local pub whilst out & about.

See you again soon

The Walters family x

User

It was our second visit it to Broomfields and we like it very much , there cottages are clean tidy and all upto date with all the comforts of home , we also have a dog ( Lucy) and we can walk her anywhere there just is no limits and there is plenty of space ie a massive field and a disused railway line at the bottom of the field which has made a very good walk , for us Broomfields is close enough to Whitby but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, and also within walking distance is sainsburys and we will be staying at Broomfields again in the near future thankyou ps excuse my grammar lol

User

Fab place always a warm welcome cosy cottages at a good price x

User

We stayed for a weekend in the pods, 10 of us went and we had booked 3 pods.

We had an amazing time it was like camping but without the hassle of putting up a tent and taking it down again.

The kids really enjoyed themselves. I was very surprised at the availability of a washer and drier.

Showers where clean.

We will book again if we go to whitby xx

This is our 2nd visit to broomfields and this time we had a different cottage for our 1st night than when we previously visited.

Abbey View cottage is a lovely size. Sleeps 6, massive master bedroom with lovely views. All the things you could need are there. The only thing I had noticed was some dust under the radiator near the stairs... noticed when playing with my little lad on the floor but this is the only one... Could have been missed as everywhere else looked clean.

Our second night we decided to have a go at Glamping. We were in pod 3. The pods look great but i have to say we didn't have a comfortable night due to the mattress. We are used to a softer mattress due to back issues but this was hard and lumpy... There are toilet and shower facilities and they look on first glance very good, but it does look like they've rushed the work on closer inspection, maybe to get it finished in time to rent out to guests. There is a sink, shared fridge and washing machine available. There are also a couple of fire pits and a bbq to use but I think it's shared with the cottages.

We wasn't equipped for Glamping so we made do with whet we had but I think if they could supply a fridge, even if it's one of those really small fridges just for milk. Also they supply cups and glasses a few spoons but no plates or bowls... to the hardened camper this wouldn't be an issue but as this was a last minute thing we didn't have anything with us. However sainsburys is across the road and we got some paper plate so not all was lost.

Over all we will come back to stay again... its a great base to visit our family and the owners are very welcoming and do help with Any issues that you raise with them. It lovely, quiet and really close to Whitby. .. and doggy friendly. I'd even give Glamping another go but make sure I'm better equipped and maybe take some extra padding for the mattress.

Absolutely lovely little place .. it is small so very relaxed atmosphere .. we loved having all the free roaming animals around us and the novelty visits from "CECIL" (We nicknamed him) the chicken really gave us a giggle (Who knew chickens had such personalities we loved him) when he visited our decking. The only thing I would say it that with us bringing our dog who is not used to birds we found we couldn't relax outside as one minute all was fine and the next he had a big chicken wondering around him.. luckily he wasn't bothered but we are always

conscious just incase. It would have helped to have a fully enclosed decking with maybe a gate so that we could open it if we wanted our little visits or close it when we wanted to chill on the decking. It wasn't 100% clean and the glass doors could do with a wipe down but it wouldn't stop us from returning. The locations is great with really good walks at the bottom.of the path into Whitby or the nearby pub ...you will need to bring your own cutlery even though there are cups and a kettle we had to go buy a spoon but again no biggie just something to be aware of..can't wait to come back xx

User

Just returned from spending 2 nights in a pod. Pod was lovely, could have done with a better clean - under bed and futon was thick with dust - but otherwise good. Unfortunately let down by the toilet and shower block, absolutely filthy and badly designed. No shower tray, so water floods out of showers and into mixes with the mud/dust being brought in from outside - this could be sorted easily by putting doormats down at the entrance. There is nowhere to hang towels or clothes while showering - bearing in mind that the floor is swimming in mud, and it’s difficult to dress without getting dirty - absolute nightmare with a toddler. Could do with staff checking and cleaning regularly. I went to the toilet at 7 this morning expecting them to be clean and one was covered in excrement - not the owners fault, more the clientele staying there. There was no reception, I think we knocked the owner up to pay our bill this morning! If the shower/toilet situation was sorted would be perfect.
